Both my wife and I enjoyed our weeks stay in this hotel from the time we checked in until we left we found all the staff very pleasent and helpfull. We had the breakfast every morning which was excellent, we did not eat in the restaurant in the evening but we heard other people who did say they enjoved their meal and the prices seemed reasonable. We had a room with a sea view which was nicely furnished and had a mini bar with a bottle of beer at 2 euro and spirits at 3 euro good value We did not use the Wellness Centre The taxi from the Airport cost 30 euro and took about 30 mins. There is a train station in Esphino with a regular service to Porto which we used most days so we had the best of both worlds a seaside hotel and easy access to the city and all it had to offer The nearby town of Esphino is not your typical tourist area but it has some nice shopping streets and a Casino and a nice beach front . There are a limited range of restaurants there ,we mostly had our evening meal in Porto and came back on the train After I checked I discovered that I lost my phone in the hotel I contacted them and they located it and are fowarding it to me All in all we had a pleasent and enjoyable week thank you Hotel Solverde

Excellent hotel in all respects for a short break. We found a shortage of good restuarants to try in the surrounding area though.

MARGARITA.

We stayed at the hotel solverde for four nights at the end of September.
We arranged a transfer with the hotel for 35 euros, cheaper than if you just arrive I think.
Journey times was about 20 mines, we arrived at the hotel and as it appeared quiet we checked in straightaway.
The room was very clean, lovely big bed, fridge, air con, and TV.
The only negative was no tea and coffee making facilities in your room, but that wasn’t a major issue.
Pool area was nice, grass all around the pool, water was quite cold, but there is an indoor pool if you wanted a swim.
The gym was very good for a hotel, lots of machines, but didn’t get to use any, (maybe next time).
Breakfast was adequate not up to 5 star standards but perfectly acceptable.
Location is just outside espinho as you walk onto the beach turn left and it’s a good 40 min walk, but the walk is lovely and a taxi back is only 5 euros.
Other post have said to walk right, we walked right to the end of the beach, and didn’t find anything of interest that side.
In espinho is a small beach community, at the time of year restaurants were starting to close and it had that end of season feel to it.
We found a lovely little restaurant called barco-boador and the food was very reasonable, the rest of the time we ate in Porto.
Porto is extremely easy to get to just get a taxi into esphino and then the train 2.5 euros takes 30 mins.
Last train back is after midnight (or was in September) but we got a taxi for only 35 euros.
Overall a nice quite break by the sea, somewhere to unwind and just enjoy.
The hotel is not 5 stars, but a good 4 star. Reasons why, hotel service not very efficient, (transfers always ran late) breakfast could have been better, (choice of coffee and freshly cooked food by a chef) and towels around the pool were worn and needs larger towels provided.
All this makes me sound ultra fussy, im not, but feel 5 star is now given to readily to hotels.
Would I stay hear again absolutely!!
