If the hotel was situated elsewhere it would have been fine, however, being on the Strip made this holiday a nightmare, the noise is terrible and violates your attempt of sleep continuously until 4am every day, then you’re not spared because when the revellers are ejected from the bars and clubs they’re shouting, screaming, breaking bottles and so on until the Sun comes up. I’m in my 30s and enjoy a good time as well as everyone but I couldn’t cope with this. Also the hotel craftily gives everybody I spoke to the strip side of the rooms, so if you attempt to move your room to the quieter side they rip you 80 Euros for the pleasure. Also nowhere on the hotel description did it mention anything about the bars when I booked, just wish I knew about this website then! Avoid at all costs.

Like the person who has written a review before me, I was filled with absolute dread and even tried to move apartments before flying out to Portugal. All because of the reviews I read on this site! which has prompted me to write my own review (something I never do but felt I had to on this occasion).
The Hotel da Aldeia is perfectly fine! Good location, clean rooms, the maids come in each day and make the beds, change the towels if needs be etc. The staff are very helpful and friendly, my boyfriend and I had a few chats and a laugh with them whenever we came in after an evening out. They helped us book our transfer back to the airport etc, making phone calls for us.
The poolside is quite nice, clean and quiet with a small bar for drinks and snacks etc. Although we didn't spend much time there, we preferred the beach which is about 5/10 min walk away and is absolutely beautiful!
Ok so the breakfast isn't great but it is exactly what I expected, I think some people on here are under the illusion that you're going to get a fully cooked English breakfast brought to your table each day. I don't think you get that in any holiday resort! There are beans, scrambled egg, bacon (if you get up early enough!), toast, fruit, fresh juice etc and it tastes nice and is clean.
My boyfriend and I stayed in a room that was street facing, which didn't bother us because we we're staying out til midnight/ 1 o clock anyway but we could understand that more mature people/ families with young children would find a problem with this. my advice would be to get a poolside room, you would defo escape the noise that way. Going off the reviews on here I thought it was going to be "BOOM BOOM BOOM" every night, but its not at all it's just hustle and bustle noise from the strip, we didn't have trouble sleeping at all!
I hope this review helps someone like myself who has read the others and felt worried. Hopefully this will put your mind at ease. I wanted to cry when I read the other reviews! One things for sure, the next time I book a holiday, I won't be coming on here, its like scaremongering!

Just spent a week at the Hotel Aldeia on the Main Strip Albufeira, and it catered for my demands perfectly, given that I am a single man in his 20's, who visited the resort with a friend and where we weren't concerned for the noise or the quality of rooms/hotel food etc and we stayed out late on the strip every evening.
Given that the hotel is probably the only big hotel to actually be located on the main strip, I imagine the street side rooms to be unappealing to old people or families who won't be out until the bars close (4am). I expect most of the bad reviews are from families and old people who stayed on the street side.
From my experience the actual noise inside the hotel is just the same as anywhere else, and is not a hindrance to the hotel's location whatsoever (given you'd expect people coming in from the bars at any time).
I read some reviews about the quality of the rooms but I have no idea how fussy these people actually are. The bathroom was very modern and the room was cleaned daily by friendly staff. Very good value for money. The breakfast is very similar to anywhere you would stay in Europe given the price you pay for the room.
This hotel would appeal to all ages but I would recommend a pool view for those looking for a quieter holiday. The pool area during the day is very relaxing and from my experience it was a fine balance of young and old. This is certainly a hotel that would appeal to the young but also certainly not an 18-30 type hotel.
The access to the strip is the niche that this hotel possesses. Upon leaving reception you are literally on the centre of the main strip. The liveliest part is about 30 metres down the strip. When you are out and it's time to go you will be very thankful you booked this hotel. It is in the centre of everything happening.

this hotel was diabolical, we were put in a "street" room overlooking 4 bars blasting garage music untill 4am ok for youngsters but we're 60 yrs old, when we complained we were charged ?45 to move, to my knowledge so where another 12 people, the food was cheap and nasty.
After we were moved to a pool room the motor from the extractor fan underneath our balcony made a terrible noise meaning we couldnt go in our room in the daytime.
The staff were the most unhelpful and arrogant people i have ever come across.
On a more positive note, the cleaning staff were very polite and pleasant, and the rooms were clean.
We will never go into this hotel again
