my room was robbed when i stayed there and the hotel staff were quite smug about it really. you should stay on the street before staying here. the concierge was particularly suspicious honestly don't waste your time. they are dirty individuals aimed to take what you have. its in a poor area so the people are desparate and will steal oof of you.

We booked this hotel through Eurostar and it did not live up to 3star expectations. We were given a non smoking room but it stank of stale cigarette smoke so much so that we had to keep the window open at all times. The room although clean had clearly not been decorated for 20+ years - it was dated and shabby. The surrounding area is run down but it didn't feel threatening. Breakfast was adequate.

My self and my friend were visiting Brussels for five days on a business trip. We were looking for a comfortable place where we could rest well after the day long meetings. We were totally disappointed. Our travel agent charged us 95 EURO per night for single room with assurance that it has bigger and comfortable rooms. Once we went to hotel the recipient gave us keys of room. We were shock to see the rooms. Very small where you can just stand with no place to keep the baggage. We went back and requested the recipient to change our rooms. He started shooting and fighting with us. After lot of efforts we were given two rooms on 3rd floor , which were also small but one could find small place to keep the baggage on the dressing table. The dressing table was as old and with out paint as was the hotel (year 1906). You can find the soap; get the bed sheets changed only on request, if you are strong. You have to really fight for every thing you had paid. The breakfast was however good.
Brussels is city of robbers. You will feel your self unsafe every where. The hotel is located at a very dangerous place; you can not go out after 0900 PM. If you go out you will find lot of young people standing outside who will snatch all you have, specially money, other wise be ready to get injured. Some will portray to be police officers and get money from you. My friend lost Euro 500, we went to police station for reporting the matter in city center but police showed their in capability to help us. However the register the report any way. If you plan to visit Brussels, Please note:
1. It is not a safe city for tourists.
2. Keep your money distributed, don’t tell any one what you have.
3. Find a hotel after reading the reviews.
4. Be aggressive else you may be looser.
5. Be cartful at airport customs. If you want to claim you tax rebate at customs airport you can be mistreated by a middle height and bulky man. Be ready for all his abusive language, if you have patience he will stamp your claim. No one including police can help. This what happened with us.
Cheap hotel, eventful stay, surprise tourist finds

It was one of the worst hotes I have ever stayed. Travelled by Eurostar and wanted a hotel near Midi Station and booked through Alpharooms.com.
First thing the area was too dodgy and people visibly staring at your possessions, young people shouting at you from the street. It was just 5 minutes walk in that street and I was dying to reach the hotel as I felt so unsafe on the street.
We reached the hotel and got the keys to the room. We we shocked to see the size of the room and the bathroom. The radiators were too old and had curtains torn. But the towels and beds were clean and we thought not to make a big deal of changing rooms for just one night. That was the big mistake we did because we realised the next morning when my husband was in the shower telling me that the water does not drain in the shower cubile and hot water turns cold if the next room person opens the tap (believe me you can easily hear what the next room people do).
The breakfast was another bad experience. There were not enough items because it was the peak time and not staff were there to attend. The tables were full with all the dirty plates that people left. It was a very bad experience over all. I would never ever go and stay in that hotel again.
