Many reviews of this hotel said the same thing. The rooms are too hot !!!!!!!!! Can't sleep comfortably. The temperature is centrally controlled. (As in most hotels in Spain etc.). The control unit in your room lets you set your own desired temperature, but its just for show!!
This hotel in particular, no matter what we did, the a/c kept blowing warm air into the room. I complained to front desk twice and was told to "open a window"... Which I did and it opened 3-4 inches at the top. No help!! I couldn't sleep and got up at 2 am to go out for a smoke and to cool off. Went outside and found myself locked out. They "closed" at midnite. Lucky I had my room card(key) with me.
The hotel staff did not care that the room is too hot. They were not helpful and could hardly speak english. And the pool area was also "closed" In fact the pool doesn't open til mid June!!
Very fancy hotel - but I would rather have comfort and be able to sleep. I did not like this hotel .
I complained about the A/C at another hotel and they took care of it. The front desk can control the temp. of each room - evidently. Others on our tour said the same thing about being too hot.
ps. Learn how to work the room card they give you. Its tricky. The lights and A/C both work with it in the slot. Pull it out and you are in the dark with no air. (Get an extra)

GOOD: Hotel Saray is next to the Palacio de Congresos. It’s a smart hotel, the public areas are traditionally decorated with fountains and Moorish patterns. The reception staff are helpful and polite.
The rooms look like they have been newly refurbished with laminated wood floors, flatscreen TVs, dark wood furniture and new bathrooms (with a decent shower and a bathtub).
One thing you must do is browse the hard-backed book that is on the table in the room – we thought it was an advert book but it’s actually a good guide to Granada and its surroundings.
BAD (for May): The hotel has a very inviting swimming pool on the ground floor but it is only open from 15th June (to 15th September?) something that is not clear in the hotel information online. But we did get to sit by it to take in the sun.
If you have sensitive ears and want to sleep before 3am then ask NOT to stay in the corner above the pub because dance music with a heavy beat is played until 3am. The next day, we asked to move and they put us in the opposite corner of the hotel on the 5th floor (north west) – no noise problem there.
The airconditioning didn’t seem to cool properly, it was quite warm at nights.
MEALS: We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel at all (at time of writing 12 Euros) as there were several nice cafes nearby – Bocatta on Acera de Darro opposite El Corte Ingles (about 10 mins walk) does coffee, fresh orange juice and croissant all for around 3 Euros. On Sunday evening, we ate in the hotel – and tried the buffet (23 euros) – quite tasty, good variety and popular. In the town, the restaurant we ate our evening meals at was called Restaurante Vera Cruz on Calle San Anton – about 10 mins walk from the hotel. It’s a restaurant for locals (so bring your phrase book as the waitresses speak little English) and the food is excellent and cheap – but if you don’t like very salty food, avoid the bacalao (cod).
LOCATION: It is a little distance from the centre – about 15 mins walk to Puerta Real where all the main streets converge. Next time I might consider staying closer in, but you can get taxis back to the hotel from Plaza Nueva.

Staying there for few days with family (including a small baby, aged 2 years)
As usual wth these super stars hotels it was quite anonymous, but it was great to stay there with all facilities and in a big and extremely clean room.
Staff at arrival was quite impolite, whereas in other occasions they were great, very friendly and helpfull....quite different, then, according to whom you find at the desk

Moorish Paradise, Las Vegas style

No, there is no casino in the hotel, but the Moorish style decoration we saw everywhere in the public areas and in the courtyard reminded us of some of the themed resorts in Las Vegas. You will find coffered ceilings, marble fountains and arabesque stucco works, all of them inspired by the famous Nashrid palaces. You can even sit down next to (a copy of) the fountain of the Generalife gardens in the courtyard. Is it nice? Yes, it is. Does it feel strange to come back to it after visiting the original less than 30 minutes walk away? Just a bit…
The rooms, in contrast, have modern, black furnishing with simple, strait lines. There are huge mirrors on the walls and a slick LCD television. The bathroom is spotless, all marble and chrome. It all feels brand new and luxurious. We were altogether very satisfied with our room.
We selected this hotel primarily based on its location. Arriving by car, it is reasonably easy to reach from the expressway and there is underground parking (costs extra). We left the car behind and walked or took occasional taxis rides. I agree with the previous reviewers that there are better located hotels for walking to the main tourist attractions. However, depending on your age, you may want to think about whether you want to climb up the steep hill to the Alhambra.
We found out to our great surprise, that in most Spanish hotels we stayed in, the temperature in the guest rooms is centrally controlled. What is really weird about this is that the control unit in your room may allow you to set your own desired temperature, but this has no effect whatsoever. In one hotel in particular, no matter what we did, the unit just kept blowing hot air into the room (we ended up switching it off and opening the windows). Many of us find these rooms too hot, just like many Europeans find the air conditioned spaces in North America too cold. Air conditioning is still a bit of a luxury in Europe and most homes and many public spaces don't have it. People are not used to it to the extent that we are and they seem to tolerate warm better than cold. I guess the lesson to take away from all this is that unless the room is really hot, like 25 C or more, the unit is probably not broken and the hotel staff will have little sympathy when we make a fuss about it.

This hotel is undoubtedly very clean and well apointed however sadly the surly and unhelpful attituide of it's reception staff let it down. Although not right in the centre of town it is only two minutes from the edge of the central area at San Anton and there are a number of buses that stop very near by - the number 8 bus literally stops on the hotel door step. The hotel itself does little to engage it's guests and certainly could not be described as a 'holiday' hotel - we got the impression that it was more geared to catering for delegates at the adjacent Congress Centre. Rooms are decorated in a a 'modern' style which some might like but some will loathe. The pool , although availble for use when we there in late May, does not open unitl June 15th so don't expect any poolside drinks service before this date! Most annoying though was the attitude of the reception staff who seemed largely disinterested in guests and any questions were met with reluctant and sometimes wrong answers. Most surprisingly was their inabilty to give correct information as to the best way to get to the Alhambra Palace which is the main reason that most guests go to Granada! Overall a good hotel in terms of cleanliness and location but so far off the mark when it comes to customer service.
