Very Good

Having never been ski-ing before i was a little apprehensive when 7 of us decided to go (4 adults, 21 year old, 18 year old and 13 year old). One of the adults and the 21 year old had been ski-ing before the remaining 5 were beginners. We booked through Thomson Ski a year in advance we also paid for our lift passes and ski hire with them. Leaving on 29/12/07 and returning on 10/1/08. On arriving in Montreal we were met by Ben Thomson Rep who was very helpful. As we booked Tremblant Suite we were unsure where we would be staying - we were allocated the La Tour Des Voyagers. Arriving in Tremblant late evening we went straight to our rooms and we were very suprised how clean and roomy they were (they had recently been updated) - we had two of the 1 bedroom suites allocated on the ground floor next to each other. Waking up the next morning and looking out of our window was fantastic it was like a christmas card setting. We met up with Ben and he took us to sort out our passes and hired ski-wear - he didnt just leave us he waited until we were all kitted out. We had no problem booking lessons when we got there, the resort was very busy obviously for this time of the year. There are plently of restaurant too choose from but as the cooking facilites in the room are adequate you dont need to eat out every night. By the end of our 6 day pass 3 of the beginners were going down the blue runs i think they may have even gone down one of the blacks. Plenty of snow. We had so many laughs and mishaps that made this holiday a quiet different experience to my normal beach holiday. The hotel staff especially Maggie at the Reception were very helpful the rooms were cleaned every day and we were always given clean towels. This hotel was located at the bottom of the pedestrian walkway which was convenient for the cabriolet lift to take you up to the gondola/chair lift and then you could ski to door on your return. We could not fault Thomsons, Hotel or Resort. The only thing that we found a bit annoying was when you bought anything or had a meal you had to add on the tax and then the tip!!!!
There must be better options!

We stayed at Les Suites for 13 nights over Christmas this year - we had three rooms and were at least all together in the same part of the hotel. The location is great and that's why we selected Les Suites but they clearly have seen better days.
Our suites were all dirty and barely cleaned during our stay even when we asked for the rooms to be vacuumed they weren't. I would certainly agreed that this isn't a customer service orientated hotel. Initially it's hard to find - going under various names you won't see Les Suites signposted anywhere; there's limited mgt service and when you do find someone they're unresponsive to complaints and it was dirty. The worst thing was that the bedcovers just stank.
Another visit I'd choose one of the other and newer suite hotels and leave my ski's with the ski-valet service at the bottom of the lift. The Resort of Tremblant was nice though it was a lot of fun for Christmas if expensive!!
it is not a customer service oriented hotel

We reserved 2 nights for 3 non-smoking rooms but:
1) The hotel assigned 3 of our rooms at different sections and different floors even we made the reservation and checked in together.
2) They gave us 3 smoking rooms and refused to change.
When we requested to change the rooms, they claimed all of the rooms fully occupied. We had no choice but upgraded the room for an extra of $35.00 plus taxes per night. AFter we accepted the upgrade, they arranged the 3 rooms very closed.
3) The hotel was not full during our stay
During the 3 days we stayed, we could not see other customers at any of the floors and less then 10 cars at parking lot.
4) Hidden cost not mentioned before until check out.
The hotel charged us an extra $15.00 plus 14% taxes. Total of additional cost $99.60 was paid.
We were very disappointed and felt not being served reasonably.

After touring Canada we decided to stop off at this hotel.
Great atmosphere we spent three nights but well worth the trip.
The mexican restaurant was cool but I would suggest sharing the portions are huge.
Breakfast was really good especially the freshly baked muffins

Booked directly through Canadian Affair - this is a great value hotel and is centrally located within the pedestrianised resort. Comfortable rooms are all nicely furnished and some have balconys. If you intend touring Eastern Canada then this resort is a must do if only for 1 night, plenty of things going on including street festivals etc. and you never feel like you are being ripped off but then that goes for all of Canada.
Just one thing to beware of, we were not sure where to go and so asked a car park attendant who directed us to another area of the same name a few miles away and so we ended up spending around 1 1/2 hours driving around in circles - so whatever anybody else tells you IT'S IN THE MAIN VILLAGE AREA.
