The Victoria Inn in Brandon Manitoba was overall an average place to stay. If I were to travel there again I would most likely look into staying elsewhere.
The Good: Beds were comfortable, pool area was very well maintained, and the restaurant on site was great.
The Bad: Housekeeping on the second floor was horrible! The rooms are nice but things were missed. Upon arrival when going to use the shower/bath tub we found a used bar of soap with hair on it - kind of makes you wonder if the tub was even cleaned. That kind of turns you off and presents a bad first impression of this place.
Also when sleeping in my bed I smelled a septic sort of smell EVERY evening Im not sure where this was coming from but I had the window open and it was not coming from outside!
They have the right idea but overall I would spend my money elsewhere next time I travel to Brandon and take a chance at trying someplace else for accomodations. This place had nothing special to offer and the poor housekeeping upkeep left a sour taste in my mouth.

The Victoria Inn was a great hotel. We had a poolside room and had a small birthday party for our daughter. The Hotel staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. The poolside is a great setting for small gatherings. The room had everything that we could possibly need including a fridge and a DVD player which was great for the kids to settle them down for bed time. Included with the room is a free hot breakfast off of the restaurant menu in the morning (what a great surprise). Would definately recommend this hotel to all of our friends!

Our stay was amazing. The room was great with everything you could ask for including a fridge and a dvd player. The bed was extremely comfortable. Included with the price of the room is a free HOT breakfast (not a continental breakfast like most hotels)-anything off of the restaurant menu. What a treat!

I recently (APril 5-8, 2004) stayed at the Victoria Inn. It was clean and comfortable, and reasonably priced. I was somewhat taken aback by the indoor pool in the centre of the hotel past which I needed to walk... the first day I was there was 'spring break' and the din from the kids in the pool was deafening. I felt sorry for those who had patio doors opening onto the pool area, which was open until 11:00 pm.
Definitely request a room away from the pool unless that is your purpose for being there (kids and spring break!) The restaurant bills itself quite highly but I found the steak and crab special to be rather disappointing, a tiny pencil thin piece of crab meat in each of 4 skinny legs and an overcooked steak. A little overpriced, and the veges were overcooked. The staff were very friendly, though, and helpful when required. An adequate accomodations for business purposes if you get one of the rooms away from the pool.
