Found the service to be incredibly rude from the beginning, when they were going to charge me an extra night for a mistake in booking, till the end, when a water leak erupted in the hall. The facilities were actually decent, but the people who worked there were rude and unhelpful (one receptionaist in particular). I anjooyed my stay at Agli Artisti less than I've enjoyed any hotel stay ever. An awful place.

The Allogii is in a very convenient location just two blocks from the train station. We loved that we were able to arrive and check in early and not have to worry about carrying our bags up and over the many slippery stairs over bridges across Venice. And when it came time to catch our early morning train to Rome, we were equally glad that we merely had to wake up and walk casually to our train.
The reception at the front desk was a pleasure and they were so happy and friendly. It seemed that they genuinely enjoyed welcoming us. After we had checked in they asked us if everything was alright with the room and if we were happy.
The room itself was clean and beautifully decorated and had a lovely balcony overlooking the street below. Although many hotels boast a balcony overlooking a canal, we actually really enjoyed the fact the ours was so nice and quiet and dry. I have stayed before in Venice overlooking a canal and it was a bit musty and smelled bad in the summer heat and the sounds of the singing gondoliers can sometimes be a bit much while trying to relax in your room.
All in all, we would definitely stay in this hotel again if we returned to Venice and I would recommend it highly to anyone wanting a convenient and affordable place to stay.

We booked two rooms, a double and a triple at this location. I was wary of the 2 star rating, but, the stay was great. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, with adequate amenities. Bathrooms functioned well. If you are not familiar with Venice, you will miss the "calle" as it's really nothing larger than an alleyway. Great location to the Train station and Ferrovia vaporetto stop. As numerous reviews have stated, beware that there is no lift at this location. We stayed on the second floor (third floor for the USA), and it was high enough.
Breakfast buffet was small, but coffee was freshly made to order (espresso, machiatto, etc.).
A great stay for the price!

We booked to stay in an Annex room with bathroom of the Alloggi Agli Artisti for 3 nights. On arriving at the hotel, we were told that the Annex was actually another hotel 5 minutes walk away.
The Hotel we actually stayed in was great. The room was clean and was ideal for a short stay. The breakfast (which was included) was great value and it was within easy walking distance of the train and bus stations.

The place was clean, I'll give them that. And it's near the station, which is nice if you've got luggage to port around. They also seem to be trying—they even have shampoo, etc emblazoned with their logo. But don't expect much besides a place to sleep. They refused to let me book by phone, probably because they could charge a surcharge for web reservations (why else?). The website I booked from said they have wireless, which was important for me because I needed to work. But it turned out they charged something like 11 Euros for it (more than 4 and 5 star hotels I've stayed at!). I was told there was a bathroom (and no shower) in my room, but there was none. The shower on the 4th floor doesn't work (and the bathtub is now a planter) so we had to use the 3rd floor shower; it is literally, amazingly just large enough to stand in with the curtain plastered to one side of your body and water pouring out onto the floor. The breakfast seems to be an extra for Venice, but it's nothing special. Bare bones. Hostile front desk. But on the cheap end, close to the station, and clean.
