We have just returned from a week at this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was clean and well appointed with a large balcony. The food was good - there was plenty at breakfast to cover all tastes. We ate in the restaurant on several occasions and whilst the menu was limited the quality of the food and service was excellent. If you are looking for a beach holiday this is not the place to stay but if you want a sample of true sicilian culture it is an ideal starting place. The most overwhelming feature not only of the hotel staff but of the people of the town was the friendliness and the hospitality - which despite the language barrier was second to none. At night we ate in the town and found the local traditional cuisine to be exceltional. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and Francavillia di Sicilia

We picked this hotel as it seemed like good value for money being near Taormina and Etna, well so we thought. However, even if these were all true I wouldn't recommend this place to you. The hotel does have some charm but could do with a serious facelift and the website doesn't tell you that although its not far form sights it takes you an age to get any where as the roads are so windy. Our double room was old, dirty and the shower worked more like a leaking out door tap. To top it all off breakfast was almost inedible with cold coffee from a machine sacrilege!

We were thrilled with our rooms. The breakfast (included) was wonderful. The entire staff was helpful, friendly and professional. We loved the mattresses. We want to purchase them for our homes. Extremely comfortable. A great find!!

I have just returned from a short break at this hotel. I originally booked because the prices compare so favourably with those immediately on the coast. The friendly approach of the staff, whether part of the immediate family or not is excellent, very relaxed yet nothing too much trouble.
