This Hotel benefits from a decent location, and for a reasonably fit person you can walk to the centre of Milan. The trams however run right outside and a day ticket for all the transport is cheap. That said the trams are noisy so get a room at the back of the hotel. The single room I stayed in was very clean with no luxuries. It was en suite but akin more to a good 2 star than a 3 star. The staff were polite and helpful but the breakfast by UK standards was poor. The fruit served was hard, the pastries pre-packaged and the rolls bland. The lift is very small and springs up and down as you step on board. So functional is the word I would use to describe this place. It lacks any character architecturally. Four walls and a ceiling is what you with minimum furnishings is what you get, Narrow corridors and stairwell. So as a base fine but you don't want to spend time soaking up the luxury as it is more like a new student residence.

The Roxy is in a pretty neighborhood, right near the Metro and trams. The room was bigger than I expected and was very clean. The bathroom was pretty cramped, but not a big deal. Breakfast was fine, and the staff were nice and helpful. The tram going by outside at night was a little loud, but not too bad. Overall a very good experience.

Location was good. Excellent restaurants in the neighbourhood, short walk to the subway and walking distance to the downtown Duomo area if you have good shoes. Rooms were small but clean and in good condition. Walls and doors are super thin, so don't expect much privacy. Breakfast simple and basic. I'd recommend this hotel to other travellers that need a basic accomodation with a central location.

For the price we paid for this hotel, I really can't complain. In all honesty I wasn't expecting too much. However the room despite being small and with dated decor was perfectly clean, bathroom again spotlessly clean but small. Yes there was no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, but it astounds me how often the Brits whinge about this, there's a cafe 2 doors away! Really there was only a couple of downsides, the lift was rather ricketty and felt like you were about to enter orbit, and there was some noise from the road, in particular the trams. I suspect this would be better in one of the back rooms. Also yes you could hear other people's bathroom noise, the toilet's flushing and shower's running. On the plus side the reception team were friendly and helpful, and really if all you want is a clean bed and a bath its perfect. Location wise, it's a five minute walk to the metro and then 3 stops to the Duomo, and really if budget is an issue, I wouldn't hesistate to stay here again.

The hotel is centrally located in Milan, handy for tram and metro stops and main shopping areas. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but quite small - especially the bathroom! Stayed in the hotel for one night before moving on to elsewhere in Italy, and would recommend it for a short stay, but probably not so good for a longer visit.
