We stayed at the Saigon Domaine in a 1 bedroom apartment during our stay in Ho Chi Minh City in April 2008. The apartment was fantastic, very clean and modern and very spacious. Had a small kitchen, living room and separate bedroom and bathroom. The complex is actually set up for expats living and working in Saigon, and as such has 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments available. They also holiday let to tourists when they have vacancies and we found the apartment to be cheaper than we would have had to pay for a hotel in the city. The staff were also very friendly but I must say that they didn't speak much English at all, which could be a bit of a challenge to all of us. There was a lovely swimming pool and fully equipped gym. A shuttle boat was available to get into the city which only took about 10 minutes, but unfortunately did not run very often. Only early in the morning and late afternoon. There was also a shuttle bus, but due to the traffic in Saigon this could take about 1/2 an hour. These were both free of charge. The bus was available more often though. It would have been more convenient to have the boat run more often. The only other down side was that there was nowhere in the vicinity for meals so you would need to go back into the city. However I would highly recommend for families or groups travelling together who would not mind sharing an apartment to share costs, as it would be much cheaper than having 2- 3 hotel rooms and much more spacious as well.

we stayed here in March and had a 2 bedroomed apartment. Booked direct and paid a lot more than the previous reviewer. However there were 5 of us, and it worked out a lot cheaper than 2 bedrooms in an up-market hotel. The apartment was beautiful and spacious with a view over the river. Shuttle boat into town in the morning was great although it would be good if there was maybe one or two more shuttle boats in the day. Staff were lovely. Food in the restaurant was great, although almost always cold. At the end of a 3 week trip it was good to have some international food and the food and presentation was very, very good at reasonable prices, even if cold. They also had a good play room for the kids and free dvds as well as all apartment facilities. A great place to stay if your are traveling with kids.

This is not really a hotel, more of a serviced apartment with colonail-style decor and ambience. Upon arrival we were amazed to see it was in fact a very large apartment with two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and 3 bathrooms! The furnishings were of very high quality and it was extremely clean. Better still, it was amazingly quiet. All this for US$90 per night. The pool and garden area was lovely and the reception staff spoke good English, always willing to help with calling taxis or booking restaurants. Room service was also good.
The only slight disadvantage was the location - not central as compared with the Sheraton or Hyatt. However, at half the price and with regular & free shuttles to the city centre, I would go back there in the future without any doubt. Being such a noisy city, I would not be keen to stay in the city centre!
