This was just a one nighter en route for Bangkok, we had done HCMC on an earlier trip. Good location near the airport. The bedroom was the smallest we had had in Vietnam with a dated bathroom and a very dirty carpet - which we pointed out at reception. The reception staff were most friendly and helpful, and together with the doorman, the security guy, they helped to rectify a problem with a taxi driver out to rip us off. Wanted 50,000 for 25,000 trip from the airport !! Beware. The breakfast was average, but the best part was their Restaurant over the road, based around a very large swimming pool. It was packed (which is a good sign) although I think we were the only europeans. We were allocated a waitress with English language and had a fabulous dinner. Although we had to vacate our room by noon, the hotel stored our luggage, and we spent the following day around the pool with a lunch, before our departure back to the airport at tea-time. If it is just an, in transit hotel you are after this is the one - on a surprisingly quiet square in HCMC.

Das Hotel wurde uns als Businesshotel verkauft. Das Zimmer war zwar klein, aber komfortabel, das Bad war ok, die Fliesen waren allerdings schon etwas altmodisch. Die Angestellten waren WENIG hilfsbereit. Wir hatten nach einem Bügeleisen gefragt und man sagte uns, dass man keine mehr verleihen würde, weil andere Gäste vieles damit verbrannt hätte. Wir hatten ein paar kleinere Klamotten zum Trocknen ins Bad gehängt und uns würde gesagt, dass dies nicht akzeptabel sei. Eigentlich wollten die doch nur, dass wir die Reinigung im Hotel nutzen würden. Es hat ziemlich geregnet und wir fragten, ob wir uns für 15 Minuten einen Schirm ausleihen könnten, was man uns ebenfalls verwerte, da andere Gäste schon so viele geklaut hätten. Sogar als wir anboten, eine Kaution zu hinterlassen, ging es nicht. Das Frühstück war gut, obwohl es eher auf asiatische Gäste ausgelegt war.

Wenn Sie in der Nähe des Flughafens in HCMC sein müssen, können Sie kein besseres Hotel, als das First Hotel wählen. Die Preise sind klasse und wir bekamen sogar für nur ein paar Dollar zusätzlich ein Executivzimmer, dass besonders schön war. Groß, modern und sehr ruhig. Die Angestellten waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Flug nach Hongkong ging schon um 6 Uhr morgens und da wir das kostenlose Frühstück verpassen würden, bekamen wir ein Frühstückspaket mit auf den Weg. Dies ist kein gewöhnliches Touristenhotel. Dies ist etwas Besonderes, dass den Flair des modernen Vietnams verkörpert.

Si necesitas estar cerca del aeropuerto de Ho Chi Minh, no encontrarás sitio mejor que el Hotel First. Los precios son buenísimos, por unos dólares más nos dieron la habitación "Executive" que estaba sumamente bien. Grande, moderna y muy tranquila. El personal era de lo más amable y servicial. Teníamos un vuelo a las 6 de la mañana a Hong Kong, y como íbamos a perder el desayuno que incluían, se ofrecieron a metérnoslo en una cajita para llevar. Este no es de ninguna manera el típico hotel turístico, o el de cadena hotelera que siempre es igual sin que importe el país en el que te encuentres. Tiene mucho más del sabor del Vietnam actual.

The hotel was sold as a business botel. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was fine but slightly dated in its decor. The staff were NOT helpful. We asked for an iron + board and were told that they did not give out irons because people had burnt things in the past. We had left some small clothes items to dry in the bathroom and were told when we got back that that was not acceptable. Bascially they wanted us to use their expensive laundry service. It was raining heavily one day and we asked for an umbrella to use for about 15 minutes but they refused as other guests had stolen them in the past. Even when we offered to leave a deposit they refused. The breakfast was good although it catered more to Asian people.
