LOVED this hotel! Though 3 star.. great service, great location and very nice staff. We were pleasantly suprised that the hotel was so nice. We could walk to the Termini and all the sites and sounds. The patio was great to sit and read at. Wine at the bar at night. And a good filling breakfast for the morning.
I would highly suggest this hotel!

Hotel Medici was a wonderful place to spend 3 days in Rome.
The room was clean and spacious, the staff (who spoke English) were very friendly, and the free breakfast was great. There is also 3 little restaurants and a little grocery store right next to the hotel. The only thing I could complain about is the shower was a little small, but that is pretty common in Italy from what I experienced.
Even though this hotel is a toward the northern part of town, most attractions are within walking distance. It was only about a 15 minute walk to the Hotel from Roma Termini (the main train station in Rome). It was about a 20-30 minute walk down to the Colloseum area and only a 10 min walk to the metro which can take you to Vatican City.
We really enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend this hotel to anyone

We have just returned from a stay at the Hotel Medici and we had a wonderful time there. We arrived at the hotel at 11am and expected to have to wait to check in but the man on reception went out of his way to find a room that was ready and even took into account a room away from the road which was a request we had put in via the tour operator! The hotel was very well maintained and had a really nice feel. The lift is small but will accomodate 2 people with 2 case's easily. The room's are spacious and cleaned everyday, the towel's are changed everyday and the bed's are comfortable. We had a room facing onto the courtyard at the back of the hotel which was really quiet although the road infront of the hotel is very quiet by Rome standard's. Great hotel if you want to be near to the Termini but if you wish to visit many of the sight's and possibly nightlife near the Piazza Navona then it will be a short taxi ride and we didn't find this to be too much of a problem. Overall clean, comfortable hotel ,nice staff, good value and a good 3 star hotel.

Would heartily recommend hotel Medici.
Stayed for 3 nights in a quad room containing 3 single and one sofa/bed. Spacious clean room with high ceilings and view onto street. Bathroom was clean and had everything you'd expect. Didn't need to ask for anything extra - ample towels, soap, etc.
The elevator was compact but quaint, so grateful that our room was on the 1st floor and we could use the stairs.
Plenty of restaurants nearby, although we only used one on the first night; the other days we ate whilst out. Lots of delis for groceries are also just down the street.
Opted to walk to most sights in the city, so enjoyed two very long and tiring days. Used the metro (nearest station is around 10-15 mins walk from hotel) to visit Vatican City - a bargain 1 euro each ! Felt very safe walking the streets at night.
The buffet continental breakfast (served 7-10am) suited us down to the ground and the friendly front-desk staff topped off a great stay in Rome.

Hotel Medici is decent.
The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The sitting room is really nice. There is an elevator.
There are a few restaurants and a small grocery store just down the block. Very convenient for snacks, water, fruit, etc.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the nearest metro. This isn't too far, but kind of a pain after a long day of sightseeing.
The hotel web site gave me the impression that the location was just minutes from Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The walk to these sites was at least 25 minutes. Again, not too bad when you're fresh, but at the end of the day it is a tiring walk.
The breakfast was terrible. Not much variety and not very delicious. I don't drink coffee but the coffee drinkers in my family agreed it was the worst coffee ever.
The bathrooms are TINY! So tiny you can't store your toiletries in the bathroom. There is no counter space at all. Our group booked three rooms for three days, and then two rooms a week later. All of the bathrooms in all rof our rooms were the same. Tiny and no counter space. This is especially true if are sharing your room with someone else. Also, the SHOWERS ARE MICROSCOPIC in size. You can't turn around, bend over, or raise your arms. I am 5'7" and I couldn't extend my elbows without hitting the walls or shower door.
The laundry service is sketchy. Double check with the concierge before you give up a laundry bag.
