Based on reviews here, booked the Victoria Lodge. Larger than average rooms, good beds and worth paying extra for a spa unit, which cost A$108 with a Golden Chain motel discount card. THe motel is on the main road close to town, but too far to walk. A comfortable but bland option. Worth contacting the Portland tourist office, which has a wide selection of accommodation, including self-contained cottages for a similar price.

We stayed at Portland recently at the end of completing a Great Ocean
Road trip and loved it. Victoria Lodge Motel was a great place to stay, right in the main street of Portland and it was only a few minutes walk to the shops and beach. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We stayed in one of the units which was great as we had our own cooking facilities. For the price, I don't think you could go wrong.

Spotless room, very comfortable beds, friendly service and fantastic location - only a couple of minutes walk to the main street shopping area and the beach! I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Portland.
