The rooms are badly insulated, and have furniture and carpets from the 70's. The bathroom is modern and clean though. Breakfast is rather ok, although not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. It's actually very suprising they ever got 4 stars. If you're in a hurry and want a hotel close to the airport you might consider Amadeus, otherwise : try and avoid it !

I stayed for 7 days at the Amadeus. It is a very nice place, a little out of the city, but there is an excellent bus service which takes about 20 minutes to the centre of Bologna. The room was large and quite comfortable, breakfast gives you a very large choice and the bar is quite good. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you have to eat out, but there are several good places nearby, including one that is next to the hotel but has a seperate management. If you have any business with the Ducati motorcycle firm it is just round the corner. By the way, get on the web and check out the number 54 bus; runs to the airport about once an hour for 1euro (taxi about 12 euro). Bus company is ATC Bologna. Above all the reason why I shall be going back is the staff, very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place.

I spent a couple of nights at Hotel Amadeus in September 2006 and would recommend it. Everywhere was very clean and nice, there was free carpark under the building and the staff was extremely nice. Breakfast was included and plentiful, with local produce: breads and pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Dinner is served in the adjacent restaurant and can be charged to your room. The hotel is located out of downtown in Borgo Panigale, so not ideal for a short visit but for anybody visiting the Ducati factory, this is an ideal hotel, as the factory is only ten minutes' walk away. Or 2min on a Ducati... This is, in fact, the official Ducati hotel, so the staff are used to people turning up on bikes.

This hotel was ok. The more nights I stayed, the less terrible it became. At first, I was very disappointed because there was about an inch of dust everywhere. After I cleaned, I felt a little better! The decor was red & black, and the room felt like a cave and was depressing. It was very dark & quiet, but it was great for a good night's sleep. Except - the way that the 2 little single beds were situated in the corner was a little claustrophobic. It was an L-shaped room, and the 2 beds were a few steps apart, between 2 walls...very weird. At least the bathroom was clean and spacious. If I could've slept in the bathroom I would've been happier! The location: It was a trip outside of the city. A short cab ride or long bus ride away. The problem is that cabs can be hard to find in the city, depending on the time of year you are traveling. To get into the city, the hotel can call a taxi for you. The staff was very nice. The town was also nice. You were able to see how local people really lived, and there were hardly any tourists in this area. There was also a large, really great and very lively restaurant a couple of blocks away from the hotel, filled with local people. But I would still recommend staying closer to the city.

The Hotel was easy to locate & hand for most area's around Bologna, the airport etc. Parking readily available even during busy periods. Rooms clean, quite & every need accomodated for. The bar was friendly even when waiting for friends alone. The food was delicious & breakfast a treat to wake up for. All in all this hotel was a pleasure to stay at, I'll be sure to book again when in Bologna.
