I just returned from this wonderful hotel with a group of 14 adults. I can't say enough good things about the hotel....it was beautiful; the location is wonderful; the staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were updated, clean, and lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the view from the terrace is incomparable. We had to leave at 3 am to catch a flight and the hotel packed each of us a gourmet breakfast. Every wish we had was met with courtesy. The place is just beautiful. I can't wait to go back!

Should be majestic ... but charged a grand

This hotel has all the potential, still, to be a Great Hotel but it is troubled: With trees that block a world class view; and restaurant staff that look miserable because of the appaling head waiter - God knows why the man has a job at all let alone at this SLH. Yes, the rooms are from a past age and attempts to upgrade them still leave those of us used to the comnfort of business hotels wanting but its not THAT bad. The spa girls were terrific and looked after my wife really well. It's calm. It's careful. And its ... OK. We were mostly moved by the chef who cooked stunning, inspired, world class flavours that were universally let down badly by his front of house staff. Take note Majestic ... there's a recession coming and you are going to have to learn to smile.

We have just left the Majestic after 4 days of bliss in a lakeview deluxe suite booked through Luxurylink. The package included a lovely 4 course dinner at the hotel restaurant, la Beola and a n excellent massage at the spa. The welcome, daily attention and service we received from ALL the staff but especially Rafaella, Silvia, Allesandro and Tomas was perfect. They were positively sparkling with joy, gave us excellent restaurant suggestions, Il Portale and Trattoria La Concordia, even if the old-world service in the hotel restaurant itself is amazing. They gave us very valuable tips for parking in Milan for the sales and even the "garden boys" were exceptional in service, as were the management, who kindly noted a few suggestions of improvement from us. The suite was delightful, with a balcony made for sundowners and a lovely nephrite green bathroom. Breakfasts were adequate. Italy isn't known for its breakfasts. The gardens and small spa and beach were delightful,as was the small bar. Verbania is ideal for exploring the lakes and the Majestic one of the few hotels with a park and beach of their own and a very calm setting. Not at all like the tourist ghetto in Stresa. We already sadly miss the smiles and kindness experienced from the wonderful staff and look forward to coming back!

I had to visit Verbania for work and my husband came along too, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Majestic and were very impressed with the room and staff. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very helpful with directions and any other information we needed regarding restaurants or other area attractions.
