Have stayed at the Annebrook a few times on business, great location with parking.
However the reception is underwhelming and the bar is ok for food but not exciting.
Having said that the rooms are really nicely finished and it would be a nice place for a relaxing break.
Just feels a bit like an unfinished project.

We visit Mullingar regularly to visit family and have stayed in various hotels. This is our favourite although it is not perfect by any means and is quite expensive. The location is excellent - everything within walking distance - with parking. The rooms are comfortable and modern and the staff have always been charming and helpful. The downside is that it is fairly expensive (E150 B&B for a double room this week), the food in the main restaurant is mediocre and somewhat pretentious, the bar is huge and bleak and there are lots of little things which one can take exception to - foam pillows, minute bathrooms, only one small bar of soap, Blutak notices stuck up everywhere, cigarette ends around the main entrance etc. We suspect that the hotel is privately owned and managed and there is a real effort to please - we were having difficulty with the radiator in our bedroom, called reception and a charming man whom we took to be the manager or owner, came to sort it out. We hope the hotel succeeds but feel that it needs to sort out its 'positioning' - is it a standard 4 star hotel of the 'Holiday Inn' variety, in which case it is quite expensive, or does it aspire to be the finest hotel in the area in which case standards need to be raised? We think that this heavily populated and increasingly affluent area needs a top end hotel but Annebrook isn't quite it at the moment as it is little differentiated from other similar modern hotels in the area.

i have stayed in most of the hotels in Mullingar as i travel alot in the area on business. The standard of service, Accommodation, food and cleanliness is second to none! i'm not one to go on and on ut i did think this place certainly deserved a mentino from me. the staff, from the receptionist at check in to the manager who helped set up my laptop for free broadband in the hotel, just could not do enough for me! well done annebrook house!!

Booked 3 rooms in June for 3 couples. The reservation process was simple and easy. We arrived prior to check in time but reception staff got straight on to housekeeping and we were all checked in within 10 minutes. They were very informative and friendly. The hotel itself is wonderful. The rooms spotlessly clean and very modern. We had a quick drink in the hotel bar which again is very modern and all the staff looked happy and friendly! Unfortunatley due to a family emergency we all had to leave that same evening but the staff were more than helpful and, unlike many hotels (I have worked in the hotel industry) they did not charge us any cancellation fees which I was amazed by. We had left in such a rush that I left some clothes behind but these were sent to me within days.
My sister has since returned and stayed in one of their apartments and has only good things to say. This hotel is a breath of fresh air and I can't wait to return.

Stayed here for 4nights while away on business and found it to be excellent. The room i was staying in was very clean and modern with a nice LCD tv with built in DVD player. The bed was very comfortable and i had also a balcony over a small stream that runs along the front of the hotel. The bathroom had a very powerful shower but only had a small screen so the whole bathroom got quite wet when showering, also the modern plug hole did not seem to be able to cope with the flow of water Breakfast in the morning was very nice and speedy, with a choice of the usual cerals and fruit and a very filling cooked breakfast was also avalible and came complementary with my room rate.
Hotel is located in the town, so there are a few restuarants around if you fancy a change for the hotel restuarant.
The Restaurant in the hotel was excellent but quite expensive, its easy to spend 60euros each on a 3course meal and a couple of pints of guinness, you can also eat in the bar if you fancy a more a casual experience the menu is different but the food is the same quality.
Would Definatley recommend staying here and i'm sure I will be returning in the near future
