This hotel barely covers the basics for comfort and cleanliness. We spent 5 nights at this hotel and the air conditioning only worked on the last night--when the temperature (outdoors) dropped below 60 degrees (F). The bedding was clean, but the mattresses thin and hard. The carpet prohibited walking barefoot; it was filthy. The bathroom tile was loaded with mold. Ugh!
Unlike an earlier reviewer, we were satisfied with the breakfast, although we found the daily presentation of canned fruit cocktail an unusual choice. Other breakfast items included cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, and small croissants. Breakfast wait staff was very pleasant and efficient.
The front desk staff ranged from a very cordial gentleman who checked us in, to an unpleasant man who was not at all helpful (refusing to reset the elevator breaker switch--which shut down with alarming frequency). It took my daughter three tries before he was able to transfer her call to our room, but he never passed on a message about the earlier inter-continental calls. Finally, when we were on the way to the airport to leave France, he called our driver and demanded that we pay for the "missing" contents of the mini-bar. It took repeated assertions that we had not consumed any of these items before he grudgingly hung up. He did not apologize for his rudeness.
I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind camp-like comfort. It is close to both subway and bus stops and there are a few bistros nearby that are adequate. If you are looking for a comfortable bed and a really clean bathroom, you might wish to look elsewhere.

I was very impressed with this hotel.
It was very clean. The maids were excellent, they cleaned the room and replaced the towels even though we didn't leave the room until 1pm on one day.
The hotel staff were friendly.
The room was basic but still nice. (Unfortunately they gave us a twin room instead of a double so make sure you get the right one before you check in). The only downside was the room was really hot the whole time despite it being pretty chilly outside, so I hate to imagine what it would be like in the summer!
The local area was nice and within very close walking distance to a few Metro stations and plenty of cafes and restaurants.
The breakfast was basic but very nice (cereal, fruit salad, yoghurt, croissants, pain au chocolats and bread rolls with Salami and Chees) and if you're in Paris on a budget you can fill up on breakfast before heading out and spending a small fortune on lunch!
Overall I was very pleased, recommended!

i stayed there for a week. the hotel in clean and nice.
breakfast is poor but they have good coffe :)
room is not so big, but is very clean .
what bothered me was the fact that i had to pay for the wireless internet. c'mon people, we live in the 21st century! the extra cost wireless internet was a MINUS.
the area is very nice, close to Sacre Coeur, La Fayette gallery.
on my first day i went to visit Louvre,Place de la Concorde, L'Arc de Triomphe and Le Tour Effel, BY FOOT. the hotel receptionist was impressed by my performance when i told him and we made some jokes..
overall, is a good hotel, i would go back!

Myself and a friend stayed in this hotel for two nights during a last-minute trip to Paris.
Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable, big enough for the two of us, considering we didn't spend a lot of time there. The bathroom was spacious and spotless.
Had no problems with the television, safe or hairdryer. Neither of us attempted to use the wireless internet access, so cannot comment. A previous reviewer noted that there were no power outlets in the rooms, which is untrue. Ours were located behind the dressing table at floor level.
The lift does indeed judder a lot, so I preferred to take the stairs, although these were narrow and dark.
Reception staff were polite and efficient when we were checking in and out, although were somewhat useless when we had problems with our keycards (both of them randomly stopped working one day and we were told that it was us that were at fault, not the cards) and were also completely incompetent when we asked them to order us a taxi to get to the airport due to a Metro/RATP strike on the day of our departure. We were told that there would be no taxis at all, throwing us into a panic. In the end, we walked to Gare de l'Est and waited at the taxi rank. Lo and behold, there were taxis everywhere and it only took us 20 minutes to get one.
I think it definitely helped that my friend and I are both fairly fluent in French and had been living in France for several months at the time of our trip. The hotel staff definitely were less inclined to take advantage of us because we could speak their language.
The hotel was in a great location, just a few minutes from Cadet metro station and we found it easy to explore the city from there. Don't bother with hotel breakfasts - had it not been included in the price of our room, we wouldn't have done either. It's edible, but you'd get much better value by eating at one of the many caf?s or bakeries nearby.
I'd stay there again, purely for the great location, and it perfectly suited us as a last-minute, two-night place to stay. I would only recommend it to people who are fairly competent in French, though.

The location is convenient to the Cadet station but unless your taxi driver has GPS and knows how to use it, they will have difficulties finding it, as the street is very small and not well known. The reception and building staff, with a few exceptions, is breathtakingly rude and studiously incompetent. They did not know how to activate the advertised in-room internet access, yet attempted to charge me for it upon my departure. They also insisted I had consumed items from the in-room minibar that I had not, and I had to compromise by agreeing to pay for 2 waters I did not drink in order to get them to not charge me for the internet I did not use. One of our fellow travelers had a staff member (a man) use his passkey to enter her room without knocking while she was about to get in the shower. Another woman arrived at her room in the evening to find a woman sitting on her bed, smoking a cigarette and watching TV, and dressed to go out for the evening. (The front desk later claimed it was a housekeeper who came to check the room.) The bar, as others have noted, is almost never open. The elevator often gets stuck between floors, which must be common because the staff is quick to arrive with a special prybar to let you out. The air conditioning is not always functioning, so they turn off the elevator in an attempt to provide more power for the AC. I was unable to receive any international calls after the 2nd night of a 6 night stay because the front desk staff person did not know how to transfer them from the main line to my room. All in all, it was not a comfortable stay and I would not recommend it to anyone I cared about.
