The website makes the Hotel look beautiful - It is absolutely spot on. From the moment you arrive you are treated with friendliness and efficiency. The position is terrific just behind the Sofia Palace in a quiet street and very close to the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the tram lines. Rooms are comfortable and very well appointed and in a chaotic city like Istanbul, quiet. The decor and style of the hotel is elegant. The restaurant is in a lovely courtyard with excellent Turkish food - service is impeccable. Breakfast is in a pleasant position either in a sunfilled room or the courtyard ,but food is ordinary. The thing that struck us was the way every member of the staff was pleasant to deal with but maintained high levels of professionalism and efficiency.
We would have no hesitation about recommending the Ottoman Imperial to friends and will stay there again when we are next in Istanbul

I’ve just returned from my holiday in Istanbul. We booked Ottoman Imprial after reading the reviews at Trip Advisor and this hotel seemed to be one of the best in the area. I must say that we all loved this place. I’ve just read a comment of another traveler and want to state that I do not agree with most of the topics he/she had mentioned. We knew that we had booked a small historical hotel (on some web sites Ottoman is rated as a 4 star, on some as a 3 star hotel), not a premium 5 star deluxe accommodation. The price we’d paid was much much lower than many European – and even Istanbul – hotels. We could choose a deluxe hotel in the area but were not willing to pay 600 USD per night. Therefore this place met our expectations in comparison to the room rate, location, hotel facilities and services. We had also met some travelers at the lobby who had moved from another hotel in Sultanahmet to Ottoman as they were not happy with their previous accommodation (they had paid twice more either). Ottoman is a good 4 star hotel and offers different advantages including a fantastic location, perfect service, comfortable (but not too big) rooms, relaxing garden, Turkish style restaurant, reasonably priced bar etc. We also loved the breakfast, was a good option to start the day freshly. The buffet was quite rich with numerous samples of European and Turkish varieties. Anyway, I believe that we should not compare a small historical hotel with a deluxe accommodation and check if the hotel offers good value for money. Ottoman definitely does.

Very nice hotel, only 1 year old, fantastic location in Sultan Ahmet area, right next to St Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
Bedrooms are to a good standard and although small are quite a good size for the central old town district.
Food offering was OK but a little disappointing compared with the general standard of the hotel. Breakfast was OK during the week but the standard of cooked breakfast declined at the weekend and the scrambled egg was inedible.
Would I go back? Yes I would, because considering the location, the price and the general standard of the hotel, the advantages outweighed the sloppy scrambled eggs at the weekend.
