Basic hotel with good transportation connections: aerobus station just next street and few metres from Marques De Pombal Metro station. A walk to city center takes some 20 minutes.
Rooms are clean, but deluxe rooms are situated next to the street and you can hear all traffic noise during the night. We could not sleep and had to change the room for standard room (windows to the inner patio). Standards rooms are a bit smaller and a lot quieter.
Breakfast was ok, excellent juices. Very friendly staff and nice park next to the hotel. But nothing else nearby.
So: If you want to be just in the center, choose a different hotel.

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel situated close to the Marques De Pombal Metro station. There is also an aerobus stop nearby. Our room was quite spacious with a four piece bathroom suite and an overbath shower. Items in the mini bar in the room were priced the same as in the lounge downstairs which had an honesty bar. You could pay for items from the lounge at reception if you didn't want them to be added to your account. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. Sheets and towels were regularly changed. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. The hotel does not serve any meals except breakfast but we found a few good eating places nearby.. The staff in the hotel were very pleasant and helpful at all times.

Don' t be put-off with the bland exterior. Inside this is a very comfortable and well appointed hotel. All the staff were friendly and the reception particularly helpful.
The buffet breakfast was very well stocked. We particularly liked the 'honesty' style for the afternoon and evening whereby it was left to trust that you would record on a card the beverages you had consumed. There was a mixture of both tourists and business travellers.
The hotel was anly a few minutes from the nearest metro , and a pleasant 20 minutes stroll to the centre. It was far enough away from too much noise.
No concerns

Just come back from Dom Carlos Park stayed there for three nights with the wife.
In summary hotel is convienently situated for all amenities and attractions. In fact we feel that its positioned better than many of the more expensive five start hotels (this will become apparent when you explore Lisbon).
Like so many other who have reported the hotel is clean and the interior is far better than the exterior. The breakfast is a buffet style and is more than generous.
Please note there is a charge for internet access (2 euros for 15 mins).
Recommendation:
Walk as much as you can, you can see nearly all of Lisbon this way.
Use the airbus to get from the airport to the hotel (no. 91) its only 3 euros each with a 5 min walk with cases to the hotel.
Limitation:
No wheelchair access.
Great location, clean spacious hotel

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the dom carlos and enjoyed our stay.we got an excellent rate of 228EUR in total including breakfast as it was off peak season. The hotel was very clean, our room was very big, spacious with very comfy beds, large bathroom with powerful shower and bath. Breakfast is great, and served until 10.30 (11am on weekends).Lots of choice for the buffet breakfast.
Location of hotel is good.while not in the dead centre, it is very easy to walk there. It is located just off the marquis de Pombal square where there is a metro/airport bus and plenty of taxis available. We normally never take taxis when on holidays but they were so cheap in lisbon( It was only 4 EUR any time of day or night for two to go to the Bairro Alto area of the city where there is lots of lovely places to eat and drink).
would definitely recommend this hotel for the price, location and proximity to the airport. We got the airport bus(no 91) to the hotel and it took 25/30 mins for 3EUR each, we got a taxi back when we were leaving from the hotel was only 15EUR.
