Me and my family agree that this was a very special holiday for us all. i chose this place because i was looking for somewhere hot but quite and this was perfect. Everything was just right but we loved the close atmosphere of everybody and the entertainers were fantasitc, especially ben and van. Ben worked most days from the morinin til about 12 at night but never complained once. the evening entertainment consisted of bingo, a music quiz, a singer (usually van) and other acts such as parrot an snake shows and black lace. We paid for transfers an on the way there Me and my 16,9,and10 year old daughter had a minibus to ourselves on the way to the hotel from the airport and when we left, we had a car drive us to the airport,just like a taxi so we are happy we got the transfers. the food was lovely and every ay me an my family enjoyed it. We were very sad to leave here and felt that it was perfect weather, perfect people an absaloutly perfect hotel and we are alreay looking foward to coming back next year.

Not impressed when we first arrived and had to wait 10 mins for someone to check us in. Then no directions to the room. The room was very very basic- no hairdryer, kettle or aircon- but these could be hired for a non-returnable fee. We travelled with a small child and they had no activities suitable for him despite the details from the hotel. The pool was never cleaned so it was filthy. When we complained it was cleaned the next day. The pools were freezing too. Food was rubbish- same thing every day and not great choices. Mainly fishfingers, burgers, chips,paella, fish and meat. Vegetables were nearly raw and desert was angel delight type stuff every night apart from one. Breakfast was about the best thing. Staff were ok but found the poolside "entertainment" overwhelming with bad language round the pool and winding up other guests in the quiet pool. At one time he was nearly arrested for being too noisy!!! Nightime entertainment was far too loud. We were the other side of the hotel and could feel the thumping music every night. The minidisco was so loud my son would not go in- surely no reason for it to be that loud? Found some bar staff had an attitude and did not serve drinks correctly. Outside the resort was lovely. The area was fab. Loved the beach and everywhere was clean and staff in shops were friendly with good stocks in shops. Overall had a nice time in the sun relaxing for a week which was the aim of our trip but would never go back to that resort.

First and foremost, the bad reviews on here must be from the kind of people who moan about anything, we had an amazing time. The hotel was cleaned to a very high standard, the housekeepers do a great job. The food was a basic menu but of a good quality, always hot and tasty. The two pools are a good size and also clean - neither is heated, but given the heat in Tenerife its nice to dip into a cool pool on occasion. We could not find fault with the hotel. The icing on the cake though has got to be the staff, marjana on reception was wonderful and the entertainment team, Van, Sticky, Ben & Hayley made us feel very welcome and were always smiling. The evening entertainment ranged from snake shows to flameco to the original Black lace! It could not be faulted. The local area is quite small and very quiet, i definately felt safe on the streets, to get to Playa de las Americas takes around 20 mins but the hotel lays on a free bus there and back every day, so you have opportunity to go explore. There are around 10 bars in the within a few mins walk from the Merlin, some open as late as 5am and some lovely restaurants too, La romantica on the seafront is highly recommended. All in all this was a great break, will definately return. Thanks guys! x
