I've stayed at Baymont Inns a few times over the years and most have been ok. This Baymont was a major disappointment.
The Front Desk personnel were very pleasant and helpful. No complaints here.
The room was designated as non-smoking. Judging from the stale smell, I'm guessing it was recently converted from a smoking room, and there was little or no effort made to deodorize it. * Very smelly room * Bed was clean and comfortable, however the carpet had a number of stains.
Mini-fridge and microwave in room.
As a business traveler, reliable high-speed internet is a MUST. This Baymont Inn & Suites claims to have "free high-speed internet".
FREE? Yes.
HIGH-SPEED? You be the judge: Based upon my tests (www.speedtest.net & others) the download speed is only marginally better than dialup (70k vs dialup 53k), and uploads take twice as long as dialup (22k vs dialup 53k). Latency is unbearable - fairly common for "cheapest of the cheap" satellite internet sevice.
Bottom line: If you need high-speed internet , save yourself some frustration and look elsewhere.
At this point I've given up on getting ANY online work done here in my room and will soon be heading into the night searching for a public wi-fi spot somewhere (hopefully) nearby.
So much for a productive evening in my hotel room!

Our stay at the Baymont Inn in Champaign IL, was good. The room and bathroom were both clean. The staff was courtious and friendly. The room had two comfortable queen size beds, 1980's decore. The bathroom was a little small but was fine.
Other parts of the property seem to have been updated recently. The fitness room was great, was near the front desk, had excellent equipment and was in a decent size room. The Breakfast was good.

I stay at this hotel regularly and have never been disappointed. The staff is very freindly and they have made considerable improvements on the property.
New bedding, new shower fixtures, and a nicer room appearance.

Gross and Rude

I have stayed at various Baymont hotels as work for a company that has ties with them and they are generally fine to stay in - they are two stars so you get what you expect. However, this particular hotel had the rudest staff members i have ever encountered ( and my room was disgusting - i slept in my cloths i was so sickened). At one point, I came up to the front desk to inquire about the continental breakfast the next morning to see a customer in an argument a staff member over the cleanliness of her room. I only caught the end of it but it involved the words "roaches" and "i want a new room". Needless to say i wanted to know what was wrong ( the woman was only a few doors down from me). The Staffer told me to "mind my business and it wasn't my concern". If i hadn't been so tired i would have given her an earful. Either way, i would never stay there ever again... you shouldn't either.
