My wife and I come to Fort Wayne probably three, four, or even five times every year so that we can use the Allen County Public Library's wonderful genealogical holdings, among the best in the world. We have stayed at dozens of locales during the past half-dozen years but of late, invariably, we keep coming back to the Baymont Inn and Suites as our "special place." Certainly one of the reasons for this is price. Hotel/motel room rates in Fort Wayne are, without exception, unquestionably overpriced but while other facilities are perfectly willing to squeeze every penny that they can from their customers while still maintaining a straight face in doing so--often for far less than one can get at the Baymont--that latter facility offers excellently clean and comfortable rooms for a fair price, an exceedingly pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and a far better than average continental breakfast each morning. We have never been disappointed in our stays and given the motel's convenient location, close to the city's largest mall, dozens of restaurants and, for those wanting it, quick on and off access to the I-69 freeway, we have little hesitation in recommending it to others as well.
Certainly, however, the Baymont, is anything but perfect. One of the most glaring "problems" is that the motel operators have consciously chosen to stock none of their rooms with either microwaves or, far more importantly to us at any event, mini-refrigerators in which to keep drinks and other items cold. There are, of course, ice machines, but they are inconveniently placed on only the upper floors. There is reasonably little counter space in any of the rooms which can pose a problem and large men and women will rue the smallish bathtubs. It would also certainly be nice if there were more hot items offered at breakfast and, indeed, if there were more space in the small dining area. None of these "drawbacks," if that's what they can be called, has stopped us from returning year after year and unless one is especially "picky" should not deter others either. On the "plus" side, the beds are extra-comfortable, the recliners in the rooms are "real," and the friendly staff is always willing to go the "extra mile" to provide for special requests whenever it can.
Just as the folks at the public library can count on seeing us again so, too, can the folks at the Baymont because we'll stay there again the next time we are in the city. (But I really would like a refrigerator!)

I ended up here because the Marriott was sold out.
King size bed, on freeway side but surprisingly no freeway noise. Room was clean and adequate and had it not been for the AAA rate I would say way over priced. Its a glorified (maybe) Red Roof Inn.
No complaints, other than the room smelled a lil musty upon entering.
For the price it was average. Don't be scared to stay here if you get a good price.

As a Fort Wayne native who visits occasionally, I've been consistently frustrated by the lodging there, which always seems to be overpriced for the city or too poorly maintained for traveling with my wife and children. This trip, however, I tried Baymont Inn for the first time and was really impressed. The facility was immaculately clean; the staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful; and the rate was entirely reasonable for the city and the location. For me, Baymont Inn was the perfect intersection between affordable and comfortable, and I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for two nights in May of 2005 when we were in town for a wedding and I wasn't sure what to expect because I'd never heard of The Baymont. I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was very friendly and our room was spotless and there were absolutely no odors. I called for extra towels and had barely hung up when housekeeping was at the door with our still warm fluffy towels. I'm not a big fan of continental breakfasts, but The Baymont had fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted cereals, french toast, danishes, waffles and muffins. We had the french toast and danishes and both were wonderful! I highly recommend this hotel. Here's another bonus, this hotel is close to some really good restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
