My daughter brought me to this hotel for my birthday. We had read the reviews and looked at hotel on Website. All seemed good and we were really looking forward to it.
On arrival we felt extremely disappointed with the area, welcome and atmosphere in the hotel. The weather was very warm and we couldn't stand the heat in our room (air conditioning did not seem to be doing any good). We could not keep the window open in the evening as the noise from the fly over just outside our window was unbelievable and unbearable.
It is beyond me how this hotel gets such great reviews. For two women on their own we felt very unsafe in the area it was it, we found the staff on the unfriendly side and the hotel may have been fine 20 years ago but for todays standards it was just adequate.
Breakfast was just adequate too. The place was clean enough which is important but the lack of atmosphere and the location did not do it for us.
Prague itself is fantastic and would recommend it to anyone. I will be back but not to this hotel.

Just back from 3 nights at this hotel. Enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly & Tony our taxi pick-up was great! If you're watching your shillings it's ideal. The room we got was to the front, it was big, clean with tv & well stocked mini bar & comfy clean bed. The bathroom was big & clean. Wouldn't really think it a 4star tho. It's location is very good, 5 min walk to Powder Tower & a short walk if you want to go up to Wen Sq. We just literally slept in the room as we were out all day, back for an hour's kip & out again! So the hotel ticked all our boxes.
As for Prague, a mind blowing city as regards art & culture which we really enjoyed. However, a word of warning; watch the pick pockets there & also check your change, I was given incorrect change 4 times - a bit much in 3 days don't you think! It can be an expensive city i.e. entrance fees etc & watch out for them adding on the VAT onto the price shown. I also thought there was an inordinate amount of grafitti & Wen Sq was tacky which is a pity. I personally thought the city very tourist driven & the beauty of the city is clashing with this & selling out, some things made me cringe, like a huge beer tent in the old square, so many large group tours that we were literally knocked off the paths with them, some sort of wheelie things that people stand on & zip around on tour rather than walking!
The food was great, found some hidden Chez gems & a great Chinese rest & enjoyed them but be prepared to walk & search. The crowds in April were large so can you imagine it in peak time, must be awful! Charles Bridge was packed & I believe in peak time it's literally impossible to cross. Did we enjoy? Yes, but keep your eyes OPEN in every sense of the word!

Our daughter chose and booked this hotel for us as a surprise for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and after our weekend stay I can only say I'll let her book all our hotels in future! This is a lovely hotel about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre. Our room was on the 6th floor towards the front of the hotel, it was both spacious, beautifully clean and modern. The bathroom looked as though it was brand new, all bright and shiny. We had the usual tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar and and a safe for our valuables. Breakfast was plentiful, with a wide choice of cereals, fruit juice, yoghurts, fruit, scrambled egg, bacon, cold meat and cheese, toast and was topped up frequently. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and I would definitely recommend this hotel and if we return to Prague would stay here again with no hesitation!

Stayed here for a romantic long weekend away + it was a birthday gift - and an incredible gift it was! Prague is truly beautiful, the most beautiful city I've ever seen and can't wait to go back for another visit. Stayed at the Tulip Inn Prague Terminus - caught a taxi from the airport there (for peanuts!) - and were welcomed by very polite and professional staff. Don't worry about some of the reviews (read them before leaving for Prague - really don't know what they're talking about); it is not a long walk to anything really! You're a 10 minute walk from the centre of town, how can that be on the outskirts? And graffiti? Well does not every big city have graffiti? Hm, not a big deal at all - and not that noticeable at all. Yes, the hotel is on a rather big road, but we couldn't hear the traffic at all. Got a lovely light and bright room with skylights and exposed beams, lovely bed and very clean and fresh in general. Great bathroom too! Good selection of food for breakfast and a good bar at night. The staff were very helpful and organised a reliable taxi to the airport on the way back.
Do try some of the traditional Czech food as well - had some incredibly nice food at a small restaurant near the castle, with mainly Czech customers and very friendly staff. Didn't have any problems with the language at all - they seemed to appreciate our attempts at speaking Czech (from the travel book), but were also happy to switch to English - I know this is not something that one should expect when going abroad, but it is helpful at times.
Would definately stay at the Tulip Inn again - it was the most romantic weekend ever, and the hotel definately added to mood and experience - and I would recommend it to anyone really!
