I stayed for three nights for work, the last being a Friday. They say theirs is one of the best restaurants in Denmark.. They chose to close it on same Friday night for a private party without informing their guests. I asked for room service - not possible. I asked for the manager to be contacted - Christian Streit - who said nothing can be done. I was directed to a take away pizzeria or another restaurant 500m away I believe. I used neither and went to bed without dinner. A proper hotel would have resolved this problem quickly - they chose not to.
This hotel purports to offer 4 star service and my room costs ?300 / night..
If you want your needs as a paying guest to be completely disregarded and ignored, this is the place for you. Otherwise please stay away.

Not wanting to drive in Copenhagen, we selected this 4-star hotel for its promise to provide the usual high Golden Tulip standard and for its proximity to the Glostrup train station from where an S-train departs every ten minutes to downtown. Contrary to some prior reviews we found our room to be pleasant, clean and spacious, appointed with a writing desk, mini-bar, INTERNET connection, couch, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, and naturally TV and phone. Beds had comfortable mattresses with quality sheets and pillows. The bath room was rather large, with a very modern shower and fixtures, and fresh smelling. However, initially we were assigned a room facing the busy street out front, but having arrived in unusually high summer temperatures and absent A/C, we saw no way to sleep with open windows. Our request for another room twas immediately granted, and we were assigned a room facing a quiet side street. The room rate for our double room at DKR 1030 incl breakfast, was perhaps a little steep, but less so than the restaurant prices, although the food served was excellent. Parking was available on-site above ground free of charge and below ground for a fee. Catering primarily to business travelers this hotel in the suburb of Glostrup offers little diversion to be explored on foot in the vicinity, yet we observed a bus with a tour group arriving and staying as well. A fitness facility is available, but we did not explore it. The friendly front desk staff was helpful, patiently offering information and explanations in response to questions. Breakfast was served buffet style with a rather extensive selection of items to choose from. A minor glitch developed when prior to check-out we tried to retrieve what we had deposited on arrival in the manager's safe. The key for the safe could not be found and it took a few phone calls and a while until we were re-united with our valuables. On balance, the hotel met all our expectations, yet a tourist arriving by plane or train may be better served in a downtown hotel.

I only stayed here one night, as I was on business. I noticed the fare was quite low (660 DKK for one night), so I guess that's why they gave me a dark and gloomy room. Also, the bathroom was functional, but looked like something out of the 1970s. There were issues with the lights in the room (not all of them were working), and the remote control to the TV didn't work properly. Yes, I could have complained, but as I was only staying one night I didn't really bother.
On the bright side, the breakfast buffet was excellent, although the restaurant did get a little crowded.

Having read the reviews I have to say that i was a little sceptical as to where I would be staying since my trip was arranged for business and pre-booked.
My room was fine, quite minimal but clean and airy - a colleague had another room which I guess was not one of the newer ones (reading other reviews) however it was still clean and ok for a night or two. Comments regarding the smell in the bathrooms are right however we concluded that it was all bathrooms, not just the old or new ones - on visting other bathrooms during our stay the smell was there too so it clearly isnt just a problem in this hotel.
The restaurant was lovely if a little limited on choice and very expensive by UK standards - I did take room service one night which was a little difficult as they do not have any written menu available in your room - you have to look up the menu on the tv which, when i was there, was not working and you could not see the choices. A visit to reception did not help since they insisted it was on the tv, it was not. Eventually a nice man on the room service line gave me the choices over the phone and i picked my meal, which was beautifully presented and very nice.
The location is not good if you are going by taxi and for the single traveller I would imagine there are better location to stay unless you fancy a night alone in your room!

I stay in this hotel on a regular basis due to work travelling. I find the previous reviews to be quite true. The hotel has two parts; one newly refurbished, and one older. The new part is fabulous beyond expectation; stylishly decorated, clean and comfortable. The old part is the complete opposite and the comments on sewage smell in this forum are not exaggerated.
If you plan to stay here, make sure in your booking that you get a room in the new part. Then for sure you will be content with your stay. If not, it will probably be the opposite...
