My Partner and I stayed at ambra palace for 3 nights and we had a very enjoyable stay.
I found the room wasn't massive but it was big enough for the amount of time we were staying, and seeing as we'd only be sleeping there, I had no complaints. Breakfast was nice with quite a bit of selection.
The hotel itself seems to be in an asian/chinese district of Rome but we had no trouble whatsoever walking around at night and managed to find a nice italian restaurant nearby. The hotel is in the ancient part of the city so dotted around are parts of the old aquaduct system and the colleseum and forum are within walking distance.
There's a metro stop nearby aswell but we were too lazy so we got taxis everywhere! The big termini station is about a 10 mins walk.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and booked tours for us with a local company which I think were good value for money, especially the vatican tour.

Hotel facilities and staff were outstanding. Location was very urban, downtown in an ethnic neighborhood away from all other hotels and amenities, but interesting and actually fun going to the market across the street. One way streets do make it difficult for taxis to find unless you mention the market, which seemed to be a Rome landmark. All in all, good outcome. Again, great staff and facility, very good included breakfast, as long as you can accomodate to the location.

We stayed in this hotel in May .It is situated a short walk from Romes Central Station and very close to a metro line. The Metro takes you to all the principal sites .We had a street facing room on the 5th.Floor and were surprised that despite the guidebook warning us that Rome was a noisy city that it was very quite.
The room was comfortable with a large double bed , clean and they also provided tea and coffee .
The decor in the room and hotel was of a high standard and the building itself is pleasing to the eye.
There is a small bar and restaurant both of which we used.
Breakfast self service but of excellent quality and quanity
The reception area was welcoming and the staff helpful.
Having stayed in many hotels on the Continent this was certainly above average and we would come back.

The hotel is not fancy but is confortable and worth what it costs. The only aspect we didn't enjoyed very much was the location. The neighborhood is not welcoming (despite being safe during the day) but after a ten minute walking you reach the colosseum and forget that piece of the city.

Comfortable, well-run hotel with helpful staff. Not the most attractive location, but convenient for public transport and walking distance to Termini platforms. No dinner restaurant, but coffee and drinks in the bar a high point before bedtime. Breakfast caters for most tastes and very efficient. Would readily return to explore more of Rome from this base.
