We stayed here for two nights. Our room was nice and clean and we had a fan which was so handy. It is not in the very centre but only 10 minutes by bus which is very regular so its very handy.
the breakfast in the morning is the usual toast, croissants, pastries, ham & cheese. We had no problems & enjoyed our stay.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel....especially the staff. They were so incredibly helpful to my mother and I during her first European trip. Our room was spotless and well appointed. The lobby is chic and sophisticated for what they are charging. The best part of the stay were the breakfasts, that were included in our rom price. The staff puts out an incredible and sophisticated spread of deliciousness that is unlike anything I have ever experienced at a moderately priced hotel.
My only complaint, this hotel is a little off the beaten path. However it is very close to the a bus stop (2 blocks) and if you don't mind riding the buses.... which are actually farily decent in Vienna, then you won't mind staying in this hotel. The closest train / metro stop is too far to walk, so we took a cab to and from on arrival and departure. The immediate area is very local in flavor, which we liked. We actually crashed an art opening that was happening a couple of blocks from the hotel in a local gallery and had a great time. Restaurants in the immediate area are a little lacking... but you can get something if you don't want to take a short bus ride to a more dining oriented part of town. The main, public, outdoors market in Vienna is reasonably close, within walking distance, and offers sights, scents and smells like nothing in the States. It is a can't miss!
If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that will exceed your expectations, and don't mind a short (5 minute) bus ride to get to the more touristy and sophisticated parts of Vienna, then the Golden Tulip is an excellent choice. I would definitely select this hotel for my next trip to Vienna.

My Mom and I stayed at the wonderful Art Hotel from Oct. 8 - 15th, 2007. I enjoyed the hotel location in a working class neighbourhood. There is a grocery store nearby called "Billa", where we got fresh fruit every day. For breakfast, we went to the local excellent restaurant and had a coffee & "semmel" bun for $3.70 euros. Their coffee was exquisite!! It is directly on the nearby square, but can't remember the exact name "7 brunnel"?
The hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They assisted with the local bus called 59A which is nearby. We got a weekly ticket for $14 Euros. The bus took us into the city centre (Oper station). The staff also helped me arrange a taxi, arrange a city tour with "Vienna Sightseeing", confirm my return flight, buy stamps, and post my postcards. They answered all our tourist questions ~ patiently.
The room itself was small but very clean. The bathroom had great modern fixtures.
There is also a nearby excellent first class Sri Lankan restaurant called "Colombo Hoppers" which is a gem. It is the best Sri Lankan restaurant I've been to outside of Sri Lanka!! I so wish they'd open another location in my hometown!!
We paid $86 Euros per night for a double room. It was arranged by my travel agent. The listed room rate was $123 Euros a night.
