I was in the Savoy in May by a medical event meeting.
Me and my wife were in a lateral room with no minimal conditions for an 3 star hotel and I was told that was a 4 satr hotel. The bathroom was very old and malfunction.
The only thing that was ok it was the fact that the room is lateral to the main road, so the noise from the traffic was lower tham my friends. The breakfast was ok.
Do not go to the savoy Hotel before full renovation.

After a cancellation of our flight to DFW (at 11 p.m. for a 11:30 flight) we were literally thrust out on the street with no help from the airline in obtaining overnight accommodations. I was able to book this hotel using the airport's internet facilities and was lucky to do so. The hotel turned out to be among the best we had visited on our trip. Newly renovated, the room was lovely, the breakfast was one of the best complementary meals I have ever experienced and the staff was absolutely first-rate. Location was in the midst of dining and shopping. I guarantee any future BA visit will find us at the Golden Tulip Savoy!

Some of the nicer pictures in their website are not of the actual hotel. It is not a four star hotel by any means: 3-star would also be a stretch. The location is not the worst but far from the best. Rooms are shabby and the carpet has not been cleaned in a very long time. Wonderful breakfast and the staff are generally very nice. Overall, I would not recommend the hotel and I will not stay there ever again.

Room had dirty carpet with cigarrette burns. Bathtub did not work. Elevator broken. Vigorous complaining got us another room in the renovated portion - cleaner. The offered "suite" was even worse than the original room. Moved heaven and earth to switch hotels after that first night. Positives? Breakfast was good.
