If you are the trpe of person put off by a bit of decor then accept what the last review said. If however, you can see past a bit of decor and are looking for a hotel which is in an excellent location, has amazing staff and a lovely breakfast then this hotel is for you. The reception and breakfast area are immaculate and well decorated and yes it is true that the rooms could do with some new wall paper but I guess this only matters if you plan on staying in your room watching tv rather than out seeing this fantastic city. The room was exceptionally clean and the bathroom immaculate (looked new). The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and spoke amazing English. This hotel is located about 30 seconds walk from Dam Square, 8 minutes to the train station and 30 seconds from main shops (including a supermarket about 2 minutes away). In terms of price I thought this was very competitive at ?116 per night in the middle of May and could not get such a great located hotel for such a price elsewhere in Amsterdam (I tried!)

We stayed in The Tulip Inn recently we were not impressed we found the entire Hotel needed redecoration, the paintwork was very shabby the carpets were very stained leading from the reception area to the lift, which put you off before you even got to the bedrooms. The rooms were very small and basic certainly not worth the prices we were being charged,I checked other Hotels in the area which were far superior and very little difference in the cost.

This hotel is clean, functional and has a great breakfast. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable, but don't expect frills. The hotel is very convenient to everything and most attractions can be easily walked to, including the train station. It is also convenient to a diverse selection of restaurants. We would return.

we stayed for 1 night. it took us ages to pick a good location and hotel but we finally pick this one. we have stayed with the company before last year in bussey saint george France and could not fault them hence going again in Amsterdam. we got there early and the room was not ready til 2 but they let us unload our bags into the store room which left us free to roam and sight see. they informed us that the double bedroom was not big enough to put an extra bed in for our 8yr old but had put us in the triple for the same price as the double. once in the room it did smell of smoke but with Holland not having a no smoking policy i did expect it but we opened the window and went out while the air blew threw. the beds were good and comfy the room was clean the location was excellent for us with our 8yr for walking to and eating could not of picked a better location. the breakfast was plentiful and eat as much as you want. once again as we had to be out of the room by 11 and not getting collected until 5 they let us put our bags in the store room til we needed them. all in all i would recommend and stay there again.

Great location just off Dam Square in a nice little lane. Hotel is clean and comfortable and is what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. Nothing special about the rooms or facilities. However this hotel scores very high on value for money, exceptionallly helpful staff and good breakfast. We paid 79 euros for a double room including a nice breakfast. Now if you are expecting bacon.eggs and blackpudding then you will be disaoppointed but if you like fresh breads. cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit and cereal washed down by good coffee and fresh juice then you will enjoy it. Staff very helpful and efficient. Room was quiet and spacious although bathroom was small but very modern and clean. Would definately stay here again.
