The Franziskaner Hotel is full of charm and atmosphere. Its central old town location has a lively restaurant with Jugendstil bar and summer terrace which makes it a popular place to meet. Our crew is happy to serve you either various a la carte or daily dishes. Stay in one of our comfortable standard rooms, one of the individually designed theme rooms or in the romantic rooftop room with own terrace which overlooks Zurichs famous cathedrals and old town. Each of our rooms caters to the needs of all our guests. We look forward to your visit. Additional information; Children age 6 and under stay free in the room. Children age 7-12 will pay the Extra Child Charge of 20 CHF per night. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.

The Franzikaner is really close to the Newmarkt area, full of bars and restaurants and maybe the liveliest part of the city at night. It is also close to the station and river. Rooms are all individually themed - mine was 'Feuer', I wasn't quite sure if I was going through the fire escape on opening the door but the room was clean and well equipped, if not all that big. My only complaint was that it was very warm and no apparent way to reduce the temperature other than opening a window, and thats when you remember it is a lively area! Other pluses include the staff who are quick and friendly and helpful when I'd forgotten a Swiss plug etc.

I have stayed 3 nights in this hotel with my wife. The location was great indeed Welcoming is warm,kind and polite, The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are clean and newly refurnished. This is a great choice and a budget hotel. Only problem is that the walls are not sound proof ,but as most of higher rank hotels arenot aswell.So this shouldnt be considered as minus. I would strongly recommend this hotel for everyone.Enjoy your stay in this classy hotel.

This is a comfortable hotel in the old town. We booked a superior double. The room was nicely decorated and was a good size. Breakfast is served in the reception area and it can get a bit cramped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Fairly noisy location but soundproofed window shut most of it out.
