One word WOW ! when i visited topkapi palace last year in august i was 13 . for teenagers and families i recommend topkapi palace . the resort was amazing , watersports was an experiance that i will never forget , entertainment was at a high standerd and ran through the whole day . not once was i bored . food was presented beautifully and there were many free and tastey drinks that you could choose from . i met friends through the activities . you must come here . it will be the best holiday . i would go back there and i recommend taking friends to . i enjoyed myself alot and did not want to leave . one night was themed and it was turkey night . there was camels and belly dancers . it was amazing . i can not believe some of the bad reviews that this hotel has gotten because it does not deserve it . everyone was sooo friendly and the area was very safe . have fun if u wish to go to topkapi palace , you will not regret your choice :D

we stayed for two weeks at the topkapi and had an excellent time we ate in all the bookable restraunts twice and had no problem booking in the mornings. all the food is excellent and hygiene was above expectations we had no upset tummies. people have moaned that there was not enough english choices or many english people but to be honest if thats what you want you should stay in england ! our children loved the hotel and the staff were very friendly our maid decorated our bed with flowers and left us wine ( which is not included in your mini bar ) i have to agree for a 5 star hotel rooms are very tired but ours was spacious and spotless which is all i want. also the waiter service is not what i would expect from a 5 star. all in all none of these things effected our stay and i would reccommend this hotel to anyone.

i read all the reviews for this hotel and i knew some people were less than impressed i found it a beautiful resort BUT it is very russian based the food is unusual to say the least with very little english choices my daughter found it hard to find anything in the main buffet.the speciality restaurants were on the whole good. the guests were mainly russian and were incredibly rude no concept of queueing or manners often pushing adults and children out of the way.they clearly regarded themselves as above anyone else they were awful to the staff who were great (but their english was generally poor).the rooms were in need of decorating with some minor issues ie skirting falling off. But they were clean, the air conditioning was not good. There was only one english TV channel but a wide choice of russian and other languages. The kids club was manned by non-english speaking workers which made it very difficult! One other thing i want to add is that there are a few cats roaming around and a dog at one point the cats were friendly i'm afraid i'm a cat lover and found a litter of kittens we fed and fussed the cats at the sheer horror of the russians!and later found out that the cats would be culled at some point and usually poisoned less than humanly. So all in all the hotel is beautiful, the staff hardworking, the location is fantastic, but don't go if you can't cope with rude guests or unusual food or the cats plight

Just returned from very good holiday at the Topkapi. The facilities are excellent and it is good value for money. The staff are very helpful and the place is kept beautifully. The food is good although the dining room can get very busy. The bedrooms are reasonable and kept clean but could do with a little updating.
We are a couple in our 60's but do like a bit of life when we go on holiday and quiet spots can always be found there if required.
There are very few English People - mostly Russian. The only downside, we found, was that other guests were unfriendly and in some cases extremely ill-mannered.

I visited the WOW Topkapi Palace in September 2007 and am hoping to go back this year, I have read through some of the reviews on here and I must say the majority are complete and utter rubbish!
I actually booked through Thomas Cook to go to another hotel in the complex of Lara Beach, but my friend and I changed our minds at the last minute after reading some terrible press reports. So the WOW Topkapi was booked on impulse and we didn't really know what to expect...
Lara Beach is a fantastic place, it is a long stretch of 5* hotels, the majority themed so the transfer to the hotel is wonderful. When you arrive at Topkapi Palace, the front of the hotel is pretty nice, but doesn't really do the hotel justice (it's usually the other way around!) The porters/reception staff were polite on arrival and we were checked in immediately. The rooms aren't huge, but were perfect for two people. The decor is slightly dated, but our room on the 2nd floor was cool, bright and airy. We had a fridge with Pepsi, Fanta, beer amongst other branded drinks, and a television with many Satelite channels. Everything was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable.
The hotel complex itself is amazing, with several bars and restaurants, a nightclub, a 24 hour lobby bar, shops and more! The beach is fantastically clean with so much to do, including free watersports and hammocks/loungers/pier cushions. The pool which I never visited looked lovely with a lot of activities. There are plenty of boat trips and excursions available, but there is also so much to do in the hotel. Mealtimes are always different with a wide variety of food in the HUGE buffet restaurant as well as the a la carte restaurants which are difficult to book simply because they are so nice!
What a lot of people haven't mentioned is that you can also use the facilities next door at the WOW Kremlin Palace, which looks gorgeous from the outside and has a different variety of bars and another nightclub. The hotel is near to lots of REAL designer shopping malls which are slightly cheaper than the UK.
I would reccomend this hotel to literally ANYONE who is looking for a fun, relaxing and varied holiday - if you have booked to go please ignore the bad comments on here as they simply aren't true! The staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful and the other guests are the same as anywhere!
