We stayed here for 3 nights in March and after reading the enthusiastic reviews were confident that we have bagged a winner.
Whilst the location cannot be faulted (the centre of Vienna was less than 10 minutes walk), we were disappointed with the hotel itself. The surly chain smoking man who checked us in gave me the creeps and was pretty unhelpful. Upon checking into our room we noticed that despite the request for a double room, we had two single beds pushed together - with one being about an inch and a half higher than the other. As a result I was able to wave down at my partner every morning! We requested extra bed linen and were given two single blankets - presumably to go under the two single bed spreads we had each.
The bathroom was small, especially compared to the pictures on the website and the breakfast room was earily silent. We honestly felt like we were staying in a hotel that was a cross between Fawlty Towers and the Shining.
Perhaps we aren't suited to boutique hotels and the location is excellent but we found our trip to magnificant Vienna was somewhat overshadowed by an unfortunate hotel.

Hotel is perfectly situated to see all the sites. Rooms are clean, quiet and the junior suites have settees, small refridge and stove tops. Bathrooms are beautifully tiled with shower and tub. Beds are firm and have twin size duvets. Found my husband wasn't able to steal my blanket - may try this at home! Breakfast is more than ample; eggs, hot sausage, rolls, cereal, fruit, juice, cheese, meats. Rooms apparently are in a circular pattern, thus are in somewhat of a maze and you need to follow the signs, but that is the only negative i can cite. Would stay here again!

This hotel is situated on the Ringstrasse, no more than a 15 min walk from the railway station linking the city to the airport via the excellent CAT train. All of central Vienna can be accessed on foot from the hotel, particularly if you like to walk. The rooms are very smart as are the bathrooms, everything is spotlessly clean. There is a small bar on the ground floor which is worth a visit. The only thing we would take issue with with regard to previous reviews is the standard of the breakfast. We found it to be average at best. Fortunately there are excellent cafes nearby including the Schwarzenburg accross the road. All in all a very nice hotel. We are unlikely to return to Vienna any time soon but if we did we would certainly use this hotel again.

I recently returned from a three night stay at the Hotel am Schubertring and was very satisfied with the experience. The hotel is conveniently located on the main Ring strasse in Vienna -- it's an easy walk to the old town, the Hofburg palace and the Stadt Park U-bahn station. It's also easily accessible from the Landstrasse Wein-Mitte station where the City Airport Train arrives in Vienna. I had a single room which was quite spacious and well appointed compared to most single rooms that I've stayed in. I found the location to be fairly quiet and I slept very well each night, partially due to the fan I could turn on at night (nothing like white noise to help you sleep in a hotel!). I was a bit taken aback when one of the desk staff took me personally up to my room to "show me how things work" (I was left scrambling for change for a tip). Some of the front desk were a bit sullen and continued to smoke while checking me out, which I found quite annoying. Nevertheless, it didn't detract from my stay at all -- the majority of the staff were quite friendly. I was disappointed when I asked if I could leave my bag at the hotel for my final day -- they said I could just leave it in the bar, which seemed highly insecure and unacceptable. I ended up having to run down to the Landstrasse station to put my bag in a locker.

We booked the two room suite and asked for a quiet non smoking room. We are a family of 5 and obviously need bigger accomodations. The rooms were reached through a bit of a maze, but overall we were not disappointed; the finishings were a bit tired, but the bathrooms were spotless and looked recently renovated. Hotel also arranged shuttle transport to and from the airport (Euro95 return) which was a nice touch. Breakfasts were good, large amounts of meats, cheese and cereals. We paid Euro280 for the large two bedroom suite, which was in line with other moderately priced hotels in and around the ring.
What would have been nice is some small furnishings in the bathroom; i.e. some nicer soaps, hair shampoo, conditioner; instead the bathroom had what looked like a communist-era blue-soap dispenser. Sort of looked out of place. Pillows were not the most comfortable but definitely were passable.
Staff at reception were friendly, helpful and afforded good quality service.
Location of hotel is between Schubertring and Kartner-ring, 10 minutes from the Statsopera/Karlsplatz and 15 from St. Stephans. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel having stayed out near Westbanhoff (at the old Altwienerhof...when it was a good hotel) some years ago.
I would recommend this hotel for families and would certainly stay there again.
