The hotel was well decorated, very clean and the staff were extremely polite and helpful making the stay very enjoyable. Our hotel room had a good view of the Spa and surroundings on the 4th floor. The spa is fantastic with several pools and there is a free shuttle bus into the centre of Puerto De La Cruz which was also handy for the hotel guests. Otherwise a cab is around ?4 per trip.
The buffet breakfast was excellent in the morning with a superb range of food to get you started during the day.
My only criticisms was that the restaurant serving the local cuisine didn't seem to be up to the standard as the rest of the hotel. The evening meal was very average in terms of taste and very pricey in comparison to the restaurants outside. So, we preferred to eat in Plaza de Charco instead. For lunch we went to a restaurant opposite El Jardin Botanico called Europa. We didn't try the Asian restaurant as we were put off by the local restaurant.
Also, the wireless internet connection on the E floor was inadequate for guests. Not only did all the guests have to bring their laptops downstairs to the salon but the internet connection kept cutting out.
However, all in all, it was a fantastic stay and we had a very enjoyable holiday in PDLC staying in this hotel.

Lovely hotel, perfect for honeymooners! the chinese restuarant in the hotel is beautiful, also the spa is amazing. We went during socttish summer holidays but by the english holidays the place filled up and was alot louder. The rooms are quite small but if you phone and book direct with the hotel you can request a balcony with sun in the morning or the afternoon. Our only down side - it had 2 single beds pushed together so we had to ask for the bed to be remade as 1. Its a short walk down to the front as is downhill. I would recommend cafe de Paris it was lovely and resonably priced.

Hotel is a wee bit dated but that does not take away the magic of this hotel. All areas are very clean and well maintained. The spa is relaxing and enjoyable the attendants at the pool side are always on hand to help with an umbrella, towels, or moving your sun bed if necessary, the grounds are tranquil and they even have two beautiful black swans. The breakfast has plenty of choice and the standard double bedroom is roomy and all appear to have a balcony. Puerto de la Cruz is a lovely resort and there are lots of places to eat. It is nice to walk out in the evening and come back for one of the hotels wonderful cocktails as a night cap. (Although it is worth mentioning that the hotel has 3 restaurants, but we did not eat in them so I can not comment apart from saying they looked nice). The hotel is a very peaceful place to stay. If you are looking for loud nightlife this would not be the best hotel but if you like to relax and go for dinner this would be ideal. We booked for four nights and extended our stay to eight as we liked it so much. We would recommend it mainly to couples and would return ourselves. Added bonus is they have around 5 English channels on the TV in the rooms

The Botanico seems to have gone off,on arrival we had to change rooms as the first was dirty and dusty and bathroom not up to scratch, looking at the second room the next morning not much better but it was cleaner, the bathrooms need up-dating the service not so hot only a porter to check us in[ok it was 2am]but we expected better in a 5 star hotel, breakfast in the room not so good, small selection and not much of it,they don't seem to have heard of butter[did'nt know they still made ordinary margerine],this is just the first three days so a much more after I get back.
