I booked a triple room and expected 3 beds but the 3rd bed was a roll-away. When I enquired the staff could not help which was very disappointing. I like that this is a family run hotel, but you can't sell a triple room like this, I would have booked 2 separate rooms in the beginning had I known this was the case.

We spent Easter here and took a 3-day package, which included 2 evening meals in the restaurant with wine, which was excellent, as wll as concert tickets to a chamber concert in the Mirabel castle.
The room we had was generously sized, simply, but adequately furnished. The bathroom was shower only (fine with us), but also plenty of room, with underfloor heating of the tiles.
The hotel is an old building, on the hill leading to the Kapuzinerberg, so it's full of nooks, crannies and half-floors.
The situation is perfect, right in the town centre, in the pedestrian zone. Access by car is tricky. You basically have to ignore the signs saying you can't get in, as you are allowed to go there to checkin and deposit luggage. Car parking is in a big commercial car park about 3 minutes walk away, with a special arrangement.

Booking with the hotel was an easy experience and very friendly as was the welcome from Hugo, the owner, when we arrived.
We came for a 3 day break to enjoy the sights of Salzburg and really needed another day or so as there was so much to see and do. Hugo will point you in the right direction and arrange tours that will collect you from outside the Hotel at no extra cost.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the bedroom large enough and came with a shower. Although an old property it had a happy feel to it and this carried through to all the staff who went out of the way to help.
There is a Restaurant attached to the Hotel and we ate there twice......it was so good the first night we had to do the same on night two.
This is a good three star hotel and the tariff is reasonable. You will enjoy your stay here.
PS...Do the Sound of Music Tour. It costs 35 euro and if you are in this type of thing is most enjoyable. If not don't do it!

This hotel has loads of charm and is very welcoming. It's a short walk from the old town and Mirabell Gardens. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was comfortable and quiet with fairly simple furnishings and immaculately clean. There is a bus service every ten minutes from the airport costing Euro 1.80, get off at Mirabell Gardens and its a 5 minute walk. A taxi costs about Euro 11. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice of food including hot eggs and bacon. Christmas in Salzburg is magical and we loved the markets. If you are a Sound of Music fan (and my wife is!) the Panorama tour is excellent. It lasts 4 hours, you have a luxury coach with an excellent guide. You will see fantastic scenery in addition to sights from the film and lots of information - even I enjoyed it!. At Euro 35 we thought this was good value too. I can certainly recommend this hotel and Salzburg for a lovely wekend away.
