We choose this hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary but nearly didn't because of some of the bad reviews. We did not experience anything but helpful staff, lovely food, lovely room, lovely pool etc. Most of the bad review were about spa days and I can't comment on them because we just went for Bed/Breakfast and Evening Meal for one night. I can't believe we've only just found this hotel as it is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and I would definately recommend the hotel.

What can i say! Do Not waste your money on this Spa. I have been to far better. We booked an over night spa break with lastminute.com. I rang the hotel direct and booked additional treatments specifically for the day of our arrival. When we arrived at the spa we were informed that all our treatment could only be given the following day, the day of our departure even though we were leaving straight after breakfast. The spa manageress and the reservations manageress were both very rude and totally unhelpful . We were refused a refund even though they could not provide the treatments that we had paid for. We were told to come back at a later date to have the treatments. We did not receive the complimentary massage either. We found the relaxation room not at all relaxing, most of the guests using this room were complaining about the poor quality of treatments and treatments being cut short by 5 or 10 mins. We ordered a coffee and waited over an hour for it to arrive as they were apparently short staffed. We booked this spa break to unwind and celebrate my birthday instead we came back ?112 out of pocket and totally STRESSED.

My friend bought me a pamper day at Greenwoods for my birthday and I had such a lovely time I can't wait to go back!
From the moment I walked in the door the staff were helpful and welcoming.
I enjoyed a gorgeous massage and then had a great lunch in the beautiful restaurant.
It really is a great place to relax and I even enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace!
I've read some of the reviews on here but I can't fault my stay.

Check in was easy and organised with all my details readily available. The room, although in an old part of the Hotel was nicely furnished and was nice and comfortable.
The family evening event was very well organised with plenty of staff on hand to provide the services. The meal was average for a large function, but was efficiently served.
Bar staff were plentiful and were chatty and helpful. prices were a bit steep.
overall a pleasant stay

I have stayed here several times over the past few years with a group of girlfriends. I'm really surprised by all the negative comments here as we've always had a very good time at Greenwoods. It's not a 5 star luxury hotel but then you're not paying 5 star prices. The rooms are clean and a good size, the hotel public areas are clean, comfortable and large enough not to feel crowded, the gardens are lovely, and staff were all friendly and attentive. On this visit the food was much better than on previous visits and I was told they have recently had a French chef in the kitchens who has obviously had an impact on the quality of food being served.
Staff on reception have been singled out in previous reviews as being unhelpful - However I found them all to be friendly and efficient and can only assume the grumpy staff have been moved to other less front line duties.
The pool was far from crowded - in fact I had it almost to myself for a while. There were plenty of loungers poolside although that might have been because it was a sunny weekend and so most people chose to sit outside in the gardens.
On this visit I didn't book any spa treatments as I just wanted time to sit and gossip with the girls - but it did seem to me that the treatments were a little bit expensive.
Overall though the stay was really good value for money - for two of us it came to just ?179 per night including dinner, bed and breakfast.
