I spent 4 nights at the Renaissance in Dec 2007 when visiting Leipzig for business. The rooms are fine, cleanliness good, breakfasts perfectly ok, etc. My main frustration with the hotel is that every little thing seemed to involve an extra charge, and not a small one at that. Even the basic in-room coffee maker carried a high charge per cup, whereas most hotels offer this for free. There is wireless internet, but I didn't use it, as the prices were sky-high. If money is not an object, then this is an uninspiring but eminently reasonable place to stay. Location is convenient also. One just didn't get that welcoming feel.

This hotel is not really in the city centre, however, a 5-minute walk gets you to the centre as well as to the main station. Quite big, modern hotel, nice lobby and "health club". Parking is 10?/day, there are private parking lots nearby where you need to pay 5?.
I had a room on the club floor, which was nice and quit. A little bit dated, but still in very good condition and quite large. A/C worked well, large bathroom. Bed was too soft. 36? is the fee to get upgraded to the club floor. Club lounge is very comfortable, good breakfast until 11AM, snacks and drinks throughout the day. Starting at 6PM, there is a buffet provided with cold dishes and one warm dish, which is not "grand cuisine", but perfectly allright for a quick dinner. Bar is very good, as well as the service provided. If you are on a leisure trip the club level is a good deal.
Reception staff was efficient, as well as room service.
Overall, a very positive experience. If I return to Leipzig, the Renaissance will be my preferred choice.

I stayed here in May last year.
Reception is nice, rooms are secure and clean. I was on busness in the area.
Internet in the hotel was expensive, but there is an internet cafe beside the hotel which is very cheap and opens late.
There is a good resturant and late bar beside the hotel with a ok atmosphere.

This hotel is not on a main street, so it is a bit tricky to locate especially if arriving in the evening. It is in a good location, within walking distance to the Train Station (which is also a shopping Mall) and Opera House.
The carpet in our room was filthy with many stains. It was so dirty, we didn't even want to walk barefoot in our own room. The room and hotel were actually pretty nice, but it was very difficult to get past the disgusting carpet.
The front desk staff were reserved, but professional and helpful.

Gute Punkte sind die Lage und die vielen kostenfreien Parkmöglichkeiten, der relative große Pool mit gut geheizter Poolarea und die Größe der Zimmer. Personal war OK bis gut aber noch verbesserungwürdig.
Jetzt die schlechten Dinge. Die Teppichböden in den Zimmer sind total verschmutzt/verfäbt und wirken richtig eklig.
Nicht einmal 1* Niveau.
Auch die Zimmer wirken unmodern (Tapeten) und man fühlt sich unwohl. Techn. Probleme mit Licht und TV (alt) waren nicht nur auf unsem Zimmer vorhanden.
Abendbuffet ist einfach armselig in Auswahl und Geschmack.
Frühstücksbuffet ist akzeptabel aber auch höchstens 3* Niveau.
Ich kann dieses Hotel definitiv nicht empfehlen Preis/Leistung
stimmen nicht und es gibt VIELE bessere Hotels in der Stadt.
