We stayed here for one night on our way to Ischia, and I have to say we loved the hotel... lovely old style villa, with original old style lift with wooden doors.. beautiful rooftop garden with a massive hammock, gorgeous to watch the sun set, also the owner recommended a lovely restaurant his brother owned about 50 metres from the hotel which was delicious. we weren't too gone on Naples tho, lot of work still to be done to clear up all the rubbish after the garbage strike! Its very convenient for the Port Beverello where you get the ferry for Ischia and Capri, altho you wouldn't walk it with bags, its about a ten minute walk. Beware the taxis in Naples, man do they drive like lunatics!!! All part of the fun tho.

While visiting family in Italy, I took my two children to Naples as a side trip to see Naples, Pompeii and the Costa Amalfitana. My mother stayed at the Hotel Miramare every year for many summers. The owner is charming and we loved being greeted by the dogs, especially Whiskey, the Maltese terrier. Ask for a room with a sea view. The hotel's terrace is magnificent and having breakfast amidst this natural beauty was the perfect way to start the day. I had been warned by my family (from Rome and the Marche) that Naples was dangerous and consequently, I had some concerns for our safety. Naples proved to be an interesting city with proud and affable residents. It has the same problems as any large city but nothing to be alarmed about. We walked everywhere which was a good way to burn off those fabulous pizzas. I would recommend seeing the veiled Christ at San Severo. It is a good 45 minute walk from the hotel through Spacca Napoli. Very well worth it. The alleys where people live in relative darkness are very interesting. Clothes still hanging from the windows. The hotel arranged a private driver for the Costa and Pompeii. Have lunch in Sorrento and don't miss the gnocchi alla Sorrentina. I also arranged a private guide for Pompeii. This is the way to go with children because they can stop and see what they like. It was 100 Euros for nearly 3 hours and the guide Ranieri Grimaldi spoke perfect English. While back in Naples go to the Museo Archeologico which houses the most incredible Pomepii frescos and artifacts. Don't miss the pregnant woman at the Pompeii Forum. Buona aventura!

On a adoré le Miramar
Guest name: Anonymous
Loved the Miramare

You can't go wrong with Hotel Miramare. It is situated along the bay making it an excellent and safe location. It overlooks Vesuvius and on clear days, you could get an excellent photo from the rooftop terrace. Breakfast was included with my stay. Breakfast consisted of cappucino, tea, coffee, juice, pastries, cheeses, breads, fruit, and yogurt. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They provided me with a map of the city and told me what to see and what to avoid. Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged but it does cost 40 Euros. I used this service since I had read that taxis can be dishonest and charge outrageous prices. The hotel can also arrange trips to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Ercolano and other destinations. I would stay here again.

L'Hotel Miramare mi è davvero piaciuto
Guest name: Anonymous
Ci soggiornerei nuovamente.
