Good location nice ambiance. Rooms are tired, renovation has been shabby. Has no elevator but we were lucky to get a room downstairs. Very rough sandy wrought iron furniture, poor bathroom, limping light fixtures. Noisy airconditioner. One dead cockroach. Dark closet. (Room 10)

We have stayed at the Caribe Hotel every year for the past 4 years and am going there again in April. We love this hotel. The staff is very nice and speak English, its close to every thing, the restaurant is perfect for afternoon snack or breakfast or lunch. We own a home on the coast in Mexico and come to Merida every year for a getaway. We have stayed at other hotels but still think this is the best location and the best value for the money. The birds in the lobby are a great addition. The roof top pool is perfect for an afternoon dip, and the view is magnificent. The grounds are very well kept the gardens and flowers are beautiful . We stayed one year during "Winter Festival" and it was perfect, the parade went right by the hotel. Can;t wait to get there in April.

Overall we were very happy with Hotel Caribe. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and actually charming. The building of itself has a very rich history. The location is perfect, right in the back from Calle 60, in the Park Hidalgo. The little retaurant is nice and the food is wonderful. Best-Wishes, and Good Travels, Jethrot1

booked with www.differentworld.com good central location, A little difficult to find if arriving by car ( tucked away at the back of a small square ) Average accomadation, out of date , could do with a refit, valet parking service would be helpful, a good but basic base for travellers.
