We have recently returned from a one week stay at the Grand Hotel Dino, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the area and the very comfortable hotel with outstanding facilities. We enjoyed a very nice meal within the hotel but also had some very nice ones in local restaurants in Braverno which were more economical. The hotel is very close to the ferry stop and we enjoyed many excursions to neighbouring towns and the two wonderful islands. A special meal on the island of Isola Superiore which the hotel organised for us was memorable. Rocca Borromeo was also well worth a visit and within easy reach of the hotel on the ferry. I would reccomend the Grand Dino Hotel as a very comfortable base to explore Lake Maggiore.

Stayed two nights at Hotel Simplon while on an Insight Italian Escapade Tour. Had lake view room overlooking pool and terrace. I was travelling alone so double room was more than ample, beautifully furnished. Bath was oddly laid out but worked. Hotel was sparkling clean. Breakfast buffet and served dinner were both above average. My friends had a room on the street which they were not comfortable in as it was noisy and very stuffy. I would definitely recommend the hotel...with a lake (in the distance) view.

Nothing was too much for this hotel, excellent choice of food, superlative service, luxurious rooms and fantastic situation overlooking Lake Maggiore.

We recently enjoyed a short,seven day,stay at this excellent hotel.It is officially rated as four star but in every respect is a five star.The staff are superb,nothing is too much trouble.The food is excellent and the hotel's location can be best described in the words of a American guest who came out onto her balcony on arrival and called to her husband''Honey ,come out here'''When he asked'Why.'She replied'' I think I've died and gone to heaven.''To sum up A superb hotel in an excellent location which is ideal for exploring the lake and it's islands on the ferries which operate a regular ,excellently priced, service. This is a completely different holiday experience and one that is really enjoyable and rewarding.

My husband & I spent the first 3 days of a 2 week tour of Italy here. The hotel has a beautiful location right on Lake Maggiore. We did not get a lake view. Our room faced the town & the mountains. It also had an outdoor deck with 2 chairs & a table. It was a decent size room per European standards ( as a few months ago we spent time in Paris). The room was very clean. However, It was hard to sleep with the one very flat pillow that was provided on the bed. To be clear we each had 1 pillow per person. There were no others in the closet. Many in our group had the same complaint. Our breakfasts were buffett style in one of the large dining rooms with wonderful views of the lake. I esp. liked the fresh fruit salad & the large choice of foods. The grounds of the hotel are very nice. The hotel has both an indoor pool & an outdoor pool by the lake. Both can be used at no additional charge. However, the fitness center had a high fee of 10-12 Euros. Also the fee for the Internet was 50 Euro cents per minute. So we didn't use either. Baveno is not a big town but there is a nice church to visit & easy access to the boat taxi & lake tours. We enjoyed our stay & found it a good place to get over our jetlag.
