Good quality is spoiled by the position of the hotel. Too far out of village, and fronted by large car park.

Fantastic family-run chalet, walking distance from lift!

Four of us stayed there this January, and I have nothing but great things to say about the chalet! The owner was lovely, the bartender was great (although he struggled at making mixed drinks - ask him for Amaretto Sour or for something blue), housekeeping very good.
We stayed in a room facing the mountain and had a lovely balcony. Wood (laminate, maybe?) floors and comfy beds, nice en-suite bathroom with a pack of Kerastase products (supplied by a local salon). We had a welcome platter of fruit and fizzy water when we arrived, and each night they left some lovely sweets on the pillows and a weather report as part of the turn-down service. The restaurants were good - they call them three different restaurants, but it's really just one in three compartments. Stone baked pizza, traditional Swiss specialities (mmmmmm rosti), and a bit of italian food were the norm on the menu. The stay included a delicious buffet breakfast - the best buffet I've had from a European hotel. By the time we left, the staff knew our names and what we wanted to drink at each meal.
The chalet is walking distance to the Eggli lift. Eggli isn't very advanced, but it is a great area to learn or to brush up on your skills. Lovely restaurant at the top of the lift, too. The walk into town takes about 5 minutes, even in deep snow. Make sure you stop in to the Apple Pie cafe and have some crepes and some hot Apflepunch (sp).
While there are plenty of 4 and 5 star accomidations in the area, I would chose to stay here as this is a lovely place.
Funny, this is officially rated as a 4 star hotel - wonder why Trip Advisor has it as a 3?
