Just returned from four night stay at the Guitart, and we were very impressed overall, we booked an upgraded Silver room which was very well appointed, only gripe if you had young children with you there is a slight gap at floor level between the balcony floor and side screen, otherwise no complaints at all about room. Breakfast was a cold continental buffet, boiled eggs,meat cheese etc, good selection of rolls and toast. evening meal changed daily and featured good selection of hot dishes plus usual salads, drinks available for purchase.... Complex features five swimming pools including one under cover, there is also a good childrens club 15euro charge. evening entertainment for children featured usual disco/balloon modelling and a parrot show. Adult entertainment consisted mainly of a singing/musical duo who played until midnight in the salsa cafe. all in all a very enjoyable hotel with a good variety of guests, friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere... will certainly be returning in the future.

we stayed in the guitart central park for i week 11th till 18th oct 2007. never again. the hotel complex is nice but there is flies and ants everywhere. we could only use the indoor pool as the rest were dirty and freezing, the indoor pool is tiny but our 7 year old son loved it. the food choice is very poor and it doesnt cater for british people.we ate out nearly every night after we went to see what was on offer. we have been all inclusive before at other hotels in the costa brava area and have never had any problems with them but this hotel was terrible. the entertainment also was a joke. live entertainment every night it advertised. one night its bingo then the next night it was two guys one on a keyboard and one with a guitar (boring), they were on 3 nights on a trot and they were crap. same songs ,same time every night. the worst part of the hotel was that it had the most unfriendly staff on the planet, ive never met people like this on holiday as they didnt know how to smile. when you went to get a drink at the bar you were made to think you were a criminal trying to steal a drink. you asked for a drink and they pulled the all inclusive card right out of your hand and if there were paying people in the queue behind you the staff would serve them first. this hotel is full of french, spanish and german pensioners and thats who they cater for so if your british dont go to this hotel as they dont cater for you and if your go all inclusive they dont like you,also you have to pay 15 euros for your kid to join the kids club that was hardly on,you have to pay 7 euros each to get into the flamenco night and 15 euros to get into the spa . the good points about the hotel is that although the economy rooms are very basic with badly stained carpets they are clean and are kept clean as the maid does a good job making the beds, changing the towels every day and hovering every day. the complex is nice too with lovely lights and waterfalls but its full of flies , wasps and ants

Me and my girlfriend have just got back from our holiday in lloret de mar where we stayed in the Guitart central park,we booked this hotel over the internet and our first impressions was that it was a lovely hotel but we was so wrong!! we arrived on our first day and was greeted at reception by a person that i think is not capable of producing a smile,then we was told we was staying in park 2 which we had to find our selves because we was not shown,then we arrived at our room to find we had not been given a key,i then went all the way back to find the man pull an angry face and tell me he had given it to me when he hadn't,i eventually got given a spare key. We eventually got in our room only to be greeted with a horrible smell which we don't know what it was still to this day,the bathroom was very basic the bath was a half size bath so you could not get in it,the shower was broke so you had to hold it up!i know we only booked a cheap last minute holiday but you expect more than this,there was just 2 single beds and 2 little tables and another table with a tv on.the tv had no remote and the volume was set on loud so you could not have it on and when you never had yours on you could hear everyone elses! which would not be so bad if there was a english channel but there isn't! At night it is very hard to get to sleep as the walls are wafer thin and you can every word the people in the next room and the room after that are saying! After all this we went down to get some tea which we had been looking forward to only we found that this hotel doesn't cater for english people as it was all french and german food, urghhh! we then tried the snack bar which serves burgers and hot dogs i got a hot dog only to find it was still frozen in the middle :( so most nites we ate out! all the people that stay in this hotel are german or french and they was all over the age of 70,it took us 3 days to finally find someone who was english! then at the bar they look at you when you order a drink as if you are stealing from them they snatch the card from your hand and only fill your cup 3/4 full,and when you go back up for another they check to see if you have finished your last one before they serve you again! its a joke. the so called entertainment at nite was awful its was just for the old and was in german so was pointless watching it. most of the staff in the hotel are rude and don't even crack a smile,half way through our holiday are all inclusive cards had been cancelled and we could not even get a drink till this was sorted which took half a day we didn't even get a sorry from them at reception,the hotel has 3 pools,2 outdoor and 1 indoor,we didn't even go in any of the outdoor ones as they was way too cold and they was not the cleanist of pools,we tried the indoor pool but that also looked dirty and was full of cigarette stumps as people smoke in there!!! the only possitive thing i could say about this hotel is that the room was cleaned everyday fresh towels etc... We still made the most of our holiday and enjoyed what we could,lloret is a lovely place but i would strongly advise anyone who goes there never to stay in this hotel!!!! :(

Nous venons de passer 3jours dans ce complexe...un vrai cauchemar! Accueil limite mais rien comparé à ce qui nous attendait dans les chambres: sur le palier, une couverture sale jetée sur la moquette, était censé éponger une fuite d'eau de notre chambre.... La chambre 5*5, du linge de lit sale (des cheveux de l'ancienne occupante...), la salle de bain trempée (à cause de la fuite), moisie, sale... Passons au repas, dans un réfectoire trop petit pour accueillir tout ce monde! Des tas de salades balançés dans des plats, aucune saveur, pour les plats chauds...immangeable. LLoret de mar, las vegas des beaufs...

Stayed at this hotel in May and was somewhat apprehensive due to the negative comments on this site. We had booked a gold star and room and upon arrival were very impressed with the room. It was quiet, clean and had everything we could need. The resort itself was small which added to its charm with a fantastic beach if not a little rough under foot. With it being only two hours flight time from the UK it is ideal for a short sunny break and we are already preparing to book for next year.
