Good location, as it is right downtown.
This is an apartment building that has been converted to an all suites hotel.
There are two suites per floor and each has two bedrooms a large living room a kitchen and a small maids room with its own small bathroom
Be prepared for some noise as it is on the main ave. in Guadalajara, and there is a dance club that plays live music to the back one block away.
The standard suites look there age but it is very clean and spacious.
The luxury suites are much better.
The staff is very helpful with info and in getting you help or to where ever you want to go.
Our daughter had a very bad ear infection the night we arrived and they arrainged for us to see a doctor that night (about midnight)
The hotel is one block away from a new modern shopping mall that has a couple of good restaurants and a large movie theatre.
There is a taxi stand about three blocks away.
Also a pharmacy across the street that is also a convenience store.
All in all if I had to recommend this hotel I'd recommend the luxury suites.
If you like shopping go to Telaquepaque, or there is San Juan de Dias in Guadalajara that has almost anything imaginable in their shops.
If you go to San Juan de Dias be prepared to pay for your toilet paper before you go in. The market has four different levels with each one devoted to a certian type of product. Most everything there though is a knock off if it has a brand name on it.
This is a large city and if you dont like the crowded markets there are several modern malls as well as the standard Wal-Marts, etc.
My ratings for this hotel are:
4.0 Value
4.0 Service
3.0 Rooms
4.0 Cleanliness
To feel at home

I have been two times in hotel and I truly loved it. The location of this hotel is excellent, near La Minerva and close from the historic center (10-15 min. by car), also very close from one of the largest exhibit grounds in latin america and on one of the main avenues of this city (Vallarta Av.). The rooms are enormous, with two rooms in each suite, kitchennete, living room and dinning room, and the best thing is that when you open the living room curtain you get a fabulous view of Guadalajara. The luxury suites are also wonderful, the decoration makes you feel as if you were in a 5 star hotel, and its very modern. If you are concerned about the safety, this hotel is great.... each room is equipped with a safety box and has private parking. One of the things that I also loved about this hotel was the food. They have a wonderful small sized restaurant called Alterno which serves nutritional food (guilt free, but really good) and the breakfast is the best, serving a lot of fruit, eggs, crepes and I highly recomend the alterno chilaquiles!!! a traditional mexican plate made with tortilla but prepared in a low fat way. And if you want other restaurants, the hotel is located nearby a lot of great italian, greek, french, mexican, swiss and other international restaurants.
