We stayed in the Il Principe for 2 nights and had a great time there. We received a free upgrade to a suite so cannot fault the room. The staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. They organised our tour and hotel pick-up to Mt.Etna. Super location - only footsteps from the historic Piazza Duomo. Highly Recommended !

We stayed here for four nights and found it to be a very nice hotel, the staff were friendly and the location couldn't be better. The local restraunts were very good and not too expensive. Only one bad experience in Catania was that whilst at the Lido (beach) we got our hire-car broken into and the locks busted off each door. But upon arrival back at the hotel the staff couldn't have been better, they locked it up securely behind a huge gate at the side of the hotel! The street outside is full of bustle on certain nights and it adds to the atmosphere of the city. Not much noise at night and it certainly didn't disturb our sleep. Eating in the hotel was a bit pricey but the standard of service was excellent. Would definitely go back!
