after returning from a week in the Marina all i can say is im in deep depression.... it was a couple's hoilday so was expecting above average (not the basic places youd stay in on a group holiday). I was defo not dissapointed with the Marina Suites they were amazing. The location was perfect i dont think i climbed one step while i was there however the walk across the marina became a nightmare when returing from Spar with aload of groceries. All in all i would highly recommend this place the pool area was gorg, the food was gorg. altought i am sori we didnt go half board breakfast can work out alot more expensive than other places but worth it. Lunch there was also lovely and very well priced. Shopping centre area can get a bit much but was great for night life. Place was very clean, staff friendly not fault would defo return.

My daughter, grandson and I have just returned from our fourth visit to the Marina Suites. The holiday was superb, everyone was so friendly, the rooms clean and spacious and the pool is just out of this world. We had bed and breakfast and we thought the breakfast was great, there was something for everybody and you must be extremely hard to please if you could pick out something you liked.
Yes the pool area can be packed and you need to get a bed early but that is a small price to pay for such a wonderful view across the Atlantic.
We ate most nights in the Commercial centre @ San Miguel restaurant, the food is superb and the waiters are great.
Have already booked to go back to the Marina Suites in November - the best place for a restful and exceptional holiday. Thank you Marina Suites staff your great - see you soon.

The reception area is a little bit drab, but dont let first impressions put you off! it was a fantastic hotel, large accomodation with large bedroom, bathroom, living area (with kitchen) and balcony.
You would be hard pushed to get a better place to stay in Gran Canaria, you can have a pool view (if you want to watch the nights entertainment from your balcony) or you can have a quieter view overlooking the marina!
We stayed 1/2 board, the food was fantastic, it is a buffet style not menu, but there is allot of choice, every night there was fish, meat, and lots of veggie options (would definately reccomend staying 1/2 board) one night a week they also do a bbq.
The hotel have an infinity type pool, which overlooks the sea (beautifull!) they also have a small dipping pool and jaccuzi!
My only disapointment was that in order to get a sun lounger, you had to be out very early as guests like to 'bagsy' the sun loungers with towels!!! (it does in fact state on the towel cards that this is not allowed but the hotel do not enforse the rule!)
There is a ferry port opposite the hotel which will take you to Mogan (little venice), would reccomend going here it is 10 euros for a return ticket, there is a market on twice a week but the market isn't really up to much! the place is much nicer not on a market day. There are various trips to go on, from just outside the hotel, sports fishing, banana boats, dolphin trips, safari, a booze ship!!!! if you like that kind of thing.
The town centre (which we nicknamed "Blackpool!!") is about ten mins walk from the hotel, where there are more bars and shops.
There is also a bus stop on the way in to town where you can catch a bus to Playas de Ingles and Maspolomas (shopping centre) you can also catch the bus to mogan (little venice) if you don't fancy the ferry!!
There is a small beach outside the hotel, and you can hire sun loungers and parasols, there is also a beach bar (I reccomend you try the wellygog beer!!! beer in a glass welly!!!) LOL :0)
If you have a late flight, you still have to check out of your room at 12 o clock, but you can book a shower time at reception, but make sure you book it early!!!
If you dont have a transfer to the aiport and need a taxi, get the holiday rep to book it they get discount!
Dont go to anfi (unless you want to be bullied in to time share!!!)
And shop at the local supermarket for cheaper prices rather than the spar!
Enjoy your holiday "I'm sure you will"

This is the best hotel we have stayed on any of the Canary islands. The cleaners even washed the dishes every morning and we had fresh towels every day! Other reviews have critised the staff for being unfriendly? We found them unobtrusive and to be honest had no reason to go to reception except to check out after a great week.
The location is perfect right in front of the Marina and just around the corner from the beach. Some hotels in Porto Rico are at the top of a very steep hill and 20 mins. walk from anything. We found the beach front bars and restaurants 10 mins from the hotel excellent and of a much higher quality than in the commercial centre, especially Oscars.
The hotel pool was fantastic and we didn't have too much trouble getting sunbeds. The pool is only open from 11am to 6pm but they didn't seem too strict with these times. You even get towels provided for poolside and can change these whenever you want. Had one meal in hotel poolside restaurant with fantastic views of sea....food pretty good, no complaints.
Overall we have no reservations recommending this hotel, for the price it is unbeatable, probably rated @ 4* with excellent location.
