We unexpectedly needed to cancel our trip. I was expecting to pay a deposit since it was less than 48 hours, but NO...we had to pay in full since I didn't cancel 55 days ago!!!!!!! 55 days! That is unreasonable. So did I stay there...No. But did I pay...Yes. therefore I think it is just fine that I right a review about my disappointment in this hotel. I know there was a waiting list for this hotel, so they would get the money anyway...probably for even more than what I paid. Beware...don't make a reservation here unless you can plan the future.

This is a very nice hotel. Check in was a breeze, very friendly and helpfull employees. It is downtown, within walking distance of the University, shopping, reataurants, and bars. Breakfast is not complimentary but lacked nothing. It is served buffet style with an omellette station and several attendants to keep your coffee cup full. Coaches Bar and Grill is right off the lobby and is open for lunch and dinner. The menu has everything from appetizers and sandwiches to steaks and ribs along with eighteen differant draft beers. The rooms are large and have a frig. , microwave and internet access. The bed was new and very comfortable. The only negative I found with this hotel (like many downtown hotels) is parking. Parking is out back in a municipal lot and is not attached to the hotel and you can only enter the hotel from ground level. If you go out to get anything from your vehicle, don't forget to take your room key like I did. You need it to re-enter the hotel.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington is a great place to stay. I went to IU, and it is a great location to get to Kirkwood, Irish Lion, Crazy Horse, College Ave and Walnut --- within walking distance to all of the popular bars and restaurants. The room was very clean and roomy. Would definitely stay again. The only drawback is the parking. You have to park in the parking garage, and we stayed not quite 24 hours and were charged 11 dollars.

What a pleasant surprise! I wasn't sure what to expect, but with only a few reviews I was hesitant to get excited about the hotel. We hoped to stay on campus for orientation, but the IU hotel was booked, so we took a chance on the Hilton. The check-in was very quick, with a choice of still warm cookies or an apple to munch on. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. The ammenities in the room and bathroom were upscale. The towels could have stood a little more softener, but that was about the only complaint I had. The outside garden area suited for eating was quaint and also upscale. We will be spending occasional weekends down in Bloomington over the next several years - not sure if we will spend this much each time (it was a little salty) but this will definately be the place we go if we choose to indulge.

My husband and I had to make a quick trip to Bloomington last month and made reservations at the last minute. The hotel was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious. The parking garage was behind the hotel and it was free parking as long as you got the tickets stamped at the front desk. The breakfast was included in the room price and it was excellent-a buffet style. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
