Kudos to the Hilton Garden Inn in Columbia, MO for providing a clean, comfortable room and good dining for an excellent price. Yes, this hotel is generic, but it does what it is supposed to do by providing cleanliness, comfort and value for the traveler at a reasonable price. Service was friendly, my room was spacious and comfortable (the large armchair and the excellent reading light were a plus), and the dining room and bar provided nicely prepared and well-priced food and drink. Not a luxury resort nor a destination property, but a good place to stay if you are visiting Columbia, MO and environs.

A nearly perfect stay - comfortable rooms, great beds, marble bath, great front desk staff, great breakfast buffet, (and a nice value at only $9). We try to stay at only the nicest places, and I can't imagine ever needing anything more than what this hotel offers. I hope that five years from now when the hotel is a bit older it still stays as nice as it is now.

Location is out of the Columbia, MO city-center which may be an issue if you are attending a college event, but an advantage if you are using the regional airport (US Air commuter line serves the town via Kansas City). Hotel is in walking distance to two nice chain restaurants and strip-center shopping anchored by a Bass Pro Shop. Hotel is so new it even SMELLS new! Everything is fresh and clean, staff very nice, no problems encountered.
Hotel includes a conference center which may mean the lobby, small bar, and small lobby grill may be very busy. Food and service were good but nothing noteworthy. Hotel has a small pantry for last minute toiletries and after hour snacks. Small fitness center and swimming pool were not used during the stay.
Rooms have high speed Internet and free office printer for guest use (great for printing airplane boarding passes). Rooms are trimmed in granite and come equipped with a High Def. TV set, mini-fridge, and microwave in addition to the usual coffee maker. Not sure what the point of having a High Deff TV if there are no HD channels? Missed my favorite guilty pleasure ("Nip/Tuck") because the hotel cable doesn't carry the FX channel. Rooms are smaller than a "regular" Hilton but all you need for a short trip.
Highly recommend this hotel.

I called this hotel directly and snagged one of the last rooms for the night. This hotel is located near several restaurants and beside a mall. Open for less than a year, it still feels brand new with beautiful decor and a comfy bed. A small frig for the two free bottled waters was a nice touch. Room 503 had a great view of the parking lot where my vehicle was in sight. A daily Starbucks drinker, I must admit, the complimentary off-brand morning coffee actually tasted pretty good! I did not eat any food at this location. A business office on the lobby floor, open 24 hours, allowed me to check my email and print out a location on mapquest that I needed for my stay. My one night stay for a double bed for one person was $108. I felt very safe at this hotel and feel Columbia, SC does NOT have a lot of attractive hotels, but this one is the one I would highly recommend...especially for single women traveling alone.

The service was was very good from the moment my family and I walked into the hotel. It was also nice having a restaurant right there in the hotel since we found ourselves traveling through Columbia, MO during a snow storm. The staff was friendly and we even wound up extending our stay. Through the storm, we found our midwest home away from home.
