Stayed for 1 night in June with no problems. Rooms were new and clean, and the staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations (ate dinner at Mamma Tosca's which was excellent). Breakfast buffet in the morning is not complimentary, but was inexpensive ($10 for adults). Free internet access a plus. Overall, would stay here again if in the area.

Nice hotel for a 1-2 night stay.. Great AAA rate. Close to restaurant's, shopping. It was quiet, clean, had microwave and small fridge in room. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Nice pool - lots of kids though. Staff was friendly and nice. Would recommend this hotel.

We spent one night here on our way to Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. The rooms are clean spacious and quiet. Easy access off the freeway. There are nearby restaurants & gas stations. The internal swimming pool was not warmed (despite that our kids all jumped in). In the morning the hotel restaurant offers a nice breakfast before you have to hit the road again. They will definitely see us again next time

I really liked this hotel it was very clean, spacious and the beds were so comfortable (well for those of us in beds that is!). The only problem is that we booked it through expedia and it was for five of us. When we checked in we were told that they couldn't put a rollaway into the room because of fire regulations. When we told them that according to expedia the room accommodated up to 5 adults and we had 2 adults and 3 children they told us to take it up with Expedia - a bit disappointing front desk attitude really. But then they did give us loads of extra bedding so that we could make up a makeshift bed on the floor for one of the kids. The room was huge so the fact that he was on the floor was fine really but it did mean that there would have been loads of room for a rollaway - oh well..... Saying that though we had a great night's stay and all the facilities were as you would hope.

I stayed here for two nights in February, 2008. I was there on someone else's tab so do not know the exact room rate and no meals were included. Overall, everything was perfect for a hotel of this caliber. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, the service was polite and courteous, and the pool/jacuzzi worked fine. I did not eat in the restaurant so can not report on that. Nor did any situations arise that saw me make any special requests of the hotel staff. Chocolate chip cookies are available at the front desk and the local newspaper is delivered to your door(note this was a Friday night thru Sunday stay. I saw USA Todays floating around so I assume that is the paper of choice on weekdays). I have stayed in both the Courtyard and Red Lion in Bakersfield. I found this hotel to be a definite upgrade from the Red Lion. As far as the Courtyard, I think the hotels are very similar with the advantage being the Hilton Garden Inn is newer therefore giving it a bit "fresher" feel. Seeing that my time there was spent mainly out of the room and off the hotel grounds, I can only say this place is very nice and should be counted on for anyone's needs, either business or pleasure. The location is perfect for food choices, some in walking distance and others only a mile or so away. I
