Average HGI Under Renovation

This HGI is currently undergoing minor updating of its rooms (new furniture, TV's etc). and boxes line the hallways. I am a big fan of the HGI chain, which is my favorite business chain of hotels. The hotel is typical for a HGI. The rooms were clean. The breakfast is average for a HGI, which is good. Service is quick. Dinner is below average and relies on the bar staff to serve the diners. The facilities are fine, but the parking is a bit limited. If you have a car and come in late, you might not find a spot. There is nothing nearby. The big negative however, is the way customers were treated during during the renovations (as an annoyance). I had a two night stay, I returned to my room on the second day to find my clothes all over the room, the dresser had been replaced with a new one (without knobs, so you couldn't open the drawers), and the TV disconnected and power out on one side of the room. I had no prior notification regarding this. I got my room switched, but the new room had the same dresser problem. The front desk staff apologized and offered a free movie. However the next day, things did not improve. I had a hard time getting to my car because of the workers, andI could not access the coffee in the lobby because all the workers were in line to get it. The front desk did nothing to discourage workers from interfering with customers and not using services for customers. I am not sure if this is an isolated incident due to a badly planned renovation (and no local management oversight) or pervasive of management's attitude to customers. .

The rooms are in need of updates. They are currently renovating so hopefully this will improve. It was not the normal Hilton bedding. The mattress was old and sagging. We did not have a problems with the noise from the airport because the air conditioner was so loud it covered up the plane noises. To give the holtel some credit the staff is wonderful. There was not one employee that we encountered that was not helpful and friendly. The restaurant also had very good food.

We recently stayed at this hotel because we were in town for a wedding. The hotel is very clean throughout! The Lobby is well lit and nicely decorated. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, which I thought was nice if you didn't want to venture out. Many restaurants are a short drive away. Our room was pretty clean. I'm a slight germaphobe so I usually bring wipes and clean most of the surfaces in the room. I was suprised that there wasn't much dirt on the wipes when I was finished. The only real downside to this hotel is the noise from the airplanes. I've stayed in airport hotels before, but this one was particularly loud. So, do be prepared for that. We stayed in room 222 where you can see the planes landing. Don't know if the rooms across the hall differ in regards to the noise. We were out and about most of the day so it was not a big issue for me. It was a good value for what we needed it for.

We stayed here the night after Thanksgiving for the Hannah Montana concert and picked this hotel because of the price and the indoor pool. The kids could not even swim because the water was sooo cold. Had I known this, we could have stayed closer to the venue. The price a ok, but when you factor in the breakfast at $10 per person, we would have been better spending a little more on a hotel w/free breakfast for 4. It was overall clean and a good neigborhood (no place to eat close). Was just disappointed on the pool!!

My wife and I chose to stay for our 25th anniversary weekend. We chose the Romance package and could not have been happier with our stay. The hotel staff was courteous and friendly, from the desk to the cafe to the shuttle. The driver for the shuttle even gave us his cell phone number so we could call him directly to pick us up. We will definitely return again.
