I stayed at this hotel for 2 night recently as part of a business trip.
It is right next to the Porsche Arena and the Daimler Stadium, all part of the new complex for the Footie World Cup in germany in 2006.
I arrived very late to a quick and efficent reception and directed to a fantastic room with seperate dressing area, living space, desk etc and a large and very comfortable bed. I was in room 101 on the corner of the building which felt like a suite but I only paid for a standard room, so perhaps they are all like this.
I didn't eat in the restuarant other than for breakfast and it was a buffet style but very good with hot and cold food, lots of cereals etc.
I walked to the shopping area, which was about 15 minutes away - so not too far.
Overall, new hotel, good service, great rooms.

My husband & I booked this hotel for the Volkfest that they have every year following the Oktoberfest in Munich. We drove to this hotel so it was a perfect location for us. This may not be the right hotel if you are traveling by train...I think it is a bit a away from the station.
The hotel has it's own parking for a fee...I think we paid around 15 Euro. All of the hotel employees we encountered were extremely friendly & spoke perfect English. Once we checked in we took a lift up to the 3rd floor to our room. OMG...the room is wonderful!!! Extremely clean, modern, & a fabulous bathroom. The beds are adjustable air mattress which make them comfortable & the pillows are nice & squishy which is unusual for hotels. We paid around 105 Euro for a double room & a buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast is the best I have ever had in any hotel! They had fresh fruit, smoked salmon, waffles, meats, cheese, etc. The kitchen staff was constantly refilling & making sure that everything was fresh. We will stay at this hotel again & again.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Stuttgart is in a great location. If you love Mercedes-Benz and car history, this is a great place to stay. It 2 blocks from the museum. Also right by the sports park for the town soccar team. It is a very modern building. Modern deco all the way through. Seems very new. Great covered parking. A couple good restaurants in the building. Park atmosphere and huge trees line the street it is on.
We were impressed with high tech lighting, etc. The lights go on in the hallways as you go to your room to conserve energy. The blinds automatically open or close based on the sun coming in the afternoon. Your room key introduces the lights in the room and go off when you leave.
Restaurant excellent. Great for supper, great for breakfast. Not bad pricing for Europe on the supper. I think we paid 12.50 Euro per person for the buffet plus drinks. Fabulous buffet. Gourmet food.
It was not very crowded when we were there, but I imagine during soccer season it must be. The staff was doting and kind. English spoken with ease for our experience. In the evening there were hot pretzles at the front desk. Nice touch!
The room was a bit on the small side... but nice flat screen TV. Bathrooms were marble. No air conditioning - most German places don't have it - but one would think the Hilton would. Still, we brought our own small fan with us and that helped.

The location of the first Hilton Garden inn outside North American is wonderful, if you are in Stuttgart Germany for a Concert or event at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer- Hall also known as the "Porsche Arena" This hotel was built for the World Cup in 2006, and is still new. The location is also right next to the new soccer stadium. At first the Hilton family was going to make this a Scandic Hotel, a modern "scandic" region hotel. This place is not your every day Hilton Garden Inn, supper modern in and out. I personally liked it, but the hallways of the Hotel were very white, almost like a hospital, but one of the cleanest hospitals. Nothing wrong with it, just very white, nothing on the walls. The rooms were very nice, I was upgraded to I think a suite, because I'm a Diamond Hilton honors member. The end of the building has a rounded end, and my room was there, very open, and spacious. With windows from floor to celling. The coolest thing was powered blinds on the outside, so you can kock all the light out and sleep in!! Nice LCD TV, with not much English stuff... FREE internet, wired or wireless.. That was NICE! The bathroom, very open and nice. The A/C was powerful also, I was cold over night, in Europe A/C is at times like fan, this place had a nice system. I'm very impressed with this place. The location was good for me, but I do not know about the location to the downtown area. The parking was also nice, there was a fee, but not bad. The price for the room was also just right, a Prepay rate of 97 Euro.. Not bad for a major city location. Over all, really liked this place.. Also the breakfast was nice... The bed was super, and the staff very helpful and you can tell happy to work..
