Just returned from the Lodomar in San Pendro, Murcia.
Although the hotel is 4* the aparements are only 3 Keys, but even that is a push. The hotel itself isnt to bad, but the apartments are in need of moderinising and repair. Our apartment had a constant smell of dirty drains, especially in bathroom. TV only had 6 channels all of which are spanish (not really a problem but its nice to have a bit of background isnt it?)
Had facilities, such as plates, microwave, hob and all utensils (although id wash them all before use) we stayed half board anyway so didnt have to cook. Buffet breakfast/dinner was ok. Hardly any guests so never more than 5 or 6 couples in restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Food was of good quailty but a little more choice would be nice. Spa was excellent, it poured down one day so we had a facial and it was gorgeous! an hour for only €40 and i really recommend it.
For only a little more you can stay in the Thalasia which is 5 mins down the road and a far supirior hotel. I'd stay again at the Barcelo but never in the apartments.
All in all, not bad, but if i had the chance there is other hotels id rather stay in first, if your after an apartment try the Bahia apartments!!!

Situated near the waterfront in a quiet residential area, the Barcelo Lodomar is split into two adjacent sections - the hotel and the self-catering apartments. The apartments are ideal if you want a bit of independence from the hotel or if you have children. Excellent value for money as we went in September which is the low tourist season so the apartment was a little over £300 for 7 days.
Within the hotel is a breakfast room/restaurant, a bar, health and beauty spa, indoor thalasotherapy pool and an ordinary outdoor pool. There is also a car park under the hotel which can be accessed from outside or via the lift or stairwell within the hotel.
Staff in the restaurant and hotel in general were very kind and efficient, always happy to help. We had a small problem with the air-conditioning and a repair man came within 5 minutes and fixed it straight away.
Spa area downstairs. Conventional beauty treatments, facials and manicures on offer plus more unusual such as chocolate wraps and wine therapies.
Thalasotherapy pool and jacuzzi recommended for people with mobility problems. I use a wheelchair, have very little use of my arms so cannot usually swim and use floats but the salt makes you completely buoyant. Steps small and gradual with hand rails either side. I could float and swim unaided. There are large buttons on the sides of the pool that activate various functions, eg. bubbles, water jets, showers etc (pics on the website).
Towels are available for hire; swimming cap mandatory, available at desk. Important: bring swimming goggles with you! The salt water in the thalasotherapy pool really stings if it gets in your eyes! They close for siesta time between 2-4 but are open late.
Lots of choice for breakfast, all lovely and fresh. Many different types of cold meat, cheeses, bread and pastries, fruit, yoghurt and some hot foods. There was also a woman at the counter who prepared omlettes on request. An excellent way to start the day!
Lunch and dinner also excellent. Menu changed frequently so there was always something new to try. Soup, salad bar, a choice of meat or seafood paella which was cooked for you fresh at the counter. Lamb shanks, cutlets and roasted turkey legs were on offer along with a range of vegetables and a fabulous deserts - flan, cakes, fruit and more.
Swimming pool and sunbathing areas were spotless. Pool is not acessable for those with mobility problems, no hoist and only ladder-style steps to get in. Also a small pool for children which was shallow and only a few feet away from the main pool.
Three of us stayed in the apartments for a week. There were two twin beds and a sofa bed in the living room. The decor was a little shabby but everything was in good working order, the bedding was clean and comfortable and the apartment in general was spotless (cleaned every day). Plenty of storage space - more draws and wardrobe space than I have at home!
There was a kettle, microwave, large fridge, hob and even a washing machine (in the wardrobe with mop and cleaning equipment). Cutlery, china and glasses provided. Large dining table with seating. Private patio areas on ground floor apartments, balcanies for upstairs apartments with patio furniture. Lovely place to sit in the evening with a bottle of wine. The TV only had Spanish channels. There were volume and channel dials in the living room and bedroom that played different music throughout the day (depending on what albums they have in the hotel, I think). Very relaxing.
Don't know anything about hotel rooms but rest of hotel fully accessable. Apartments not very suitable for wheelchair users. Ramp to downstairs apartments VERY steep, shower over bath, not separate. Bathroom sink and kitchen surfaces quite high.

I found the Lodomar to be a poor hotel, given that it is supposed to be 4-stars. I would rate it at 1-2 stars.
Some would claim the room was clean, but there were dirt and dust in all the corners, the six TV-channels were all Spanish with exception of CNN, which was so noisy it was impossible to hear what was said.
There is no internet. When I asked if they had any internet, the reception pointed me to an automat of sorts, but the only thing which stood there was "out of order". When I confronted the reception, they supposed not to know and just said "then we have no internet".
The facade is poor, and the surroundings are not really see-worthy at all.
On my booking form it said I had booked a queen-bed room, but the reception said I had to pay 20 euros extra to get a queen-bed. The money is not a problem, but feeling fooled is a problem.
In general I can not recommend the hotel, and I will not return.
