We got the room and they gave us a free breakfast, due my husband's hilton member's status.
The room was VERY clean, as was the entire hotel. We stayed in the "evolution" room, which meant an adjustable king sized air bed!!! woo hoo This is the greatest part of the stay! We have an adjustable air bed at home and miss it the most when we travel.
The breakfast buffet was great. I have A LOT of food allergies, and was full when finished eating. There are lots of options for us, and they were very helpful in finding foods for me.
We used the hot-tub before leaving. It was very clean, and look barely used. The pool area was right next to the exercise room which looked nice. It had the basic hotel fitness equipment. Several women used it while we were in the hot-tub. The only weird part was walking past the business conference rooms, and their meeting goers, in a towel/bathing suit. Felt a little funny.
The location is great. Near a mall and some strip malls. Lots of dining options outside the hotel.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel on our trip from FL and we were pleased with the room. It was clean, very comfortable and located in a great part of town.
The front lobby staff was not too friendly, the lady was rather rude but other than that, the stay was great!!!
Thank you!!!!

I was excited to stay at this new Hilton in Columbia. My hubby and I were in town for a family wedding and this was a great location for all of our running around. The Harbison area boasts a mall, several surrounding shopping areas, 2 movie theatres, and more than enough restaurants to choose from for dining, billiards, drinks, etc.
This Garden Inn backs up to the interstate but does not seem to pick up on all of the noise. Not sure why one reviewer had a hard time finding the hotel. The hotel is large and has an open parking area. Admittedly the signage near the road isn't great, but the name is on the building. During our stay there were several groups in town for a Carolina game, bowling tournament, conferences at the hotel, and perhaps other weddings/formal events. While the hotel was bustling, I did not feel any of the effects.
There is an excellent buffet breakfast, as well as happy hour. I do not believe the breakfast is included with most rates, but is fairly reasonable if you take advantage of all the full service. My husband just had a waffle and juice each morning and it was about $5.00. I tried something different each day, paying around $8 plus tip (great service throughout meal). Selection includes, waffles, omelets, pancakes, cereals, breads, yogurt, fruit, sausage/bacon, grits, biscuits & gravy, among several other things.
Front desk service was very friendly, as was the housekeeping staff. The room was clean and roomy. Free in-room wireless internet access came in handy, as did the mini-fridge (for our use) and microwave. The king size bed was very comfortable. I looked forward to laying down in it each night.
We had to check out at about 4am on a Monday and there was still a friendly face to greet us at the front desk.
We expect to return to the area next summer and will definitely stay at this Garden Inn again.

Stay was just ok! Was told hotel was one of the newest in the area we had our event. Location was not the best. I passed the hotel several times before being able to locate it! Once I got there, the staff was just ok nothing to really impress me. Rooms were nice but a little small.
Breakfast wasn't included and was a little pricy so we decided to go down the road for breakfast! There was a group that was on our floor and was pretty noisy! Overall, just ok but alot of other nicer places to stay on this side of town! I will stay somewhere else next time!

I booked a room here to host my family when they came to visit Columbia, SC (where I live). We've tried lots of hotels in the area on many visits, and this one is now one of our favorites in the area (along with the Inn at USC and the Embassy Suites).
The property is one of the newest ones in the Columbia area. It's adjacent to the Columbiana Centre, one of the best shopping areas in the region. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown Columbia, in the Irmo area (Irmo is a town, for those who aren't from this part of the world). It's next door to several restaurants, including Carraba's and Sticky Fingers (a rib/barbecue restaurant).
Overall, we had an excellent stay. This is a very attractive Garden Inn, with beautiful landscaping and well-maintained grounds and facilities. All of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant each day (which isn't included with the cost of staying unless your rate indicates so) and found the food to be very good for the money. Omelets and waffles are available, and the buffet was well stocked with items such as corned beef hash, bacon, grits, sausage, hash browns, fresh fruit, and a wide variety of cereal.
The room was very clean, and the furnishings and decor in the room are all new and attractive. Though the hotel's parking lot was close to full, there was never a problem with getting an elevator or with hall noise entering the room.
The area is generally a safe place to stay in Columbia, and there is a lot to do in that area. We had a rate around $115 a night and felt it was a very good price for what we got.
